This is nicely exposed with the perfect composition and colors. I think it is awesome!

Very Nice!

I think to bring this to the next level, the stray leaves at the bottom need to be cropped. Nicely done otherwise.

This is a falls at the base of Starvation Creek. It is named
Starvation creek because of a incident that happened in the early
1900's. A train was passing through the Columbia gorge and got stuck
in a huge snowstorm at this creek and falls for around 30 days.
People were starving and fighting for every bit of food and warmth
they could get. They finally got rescued and nobody died. There were
drifts over 15 feet high blocking the train tracks with temps close
to zero.

This was taken on the Portland waterfront with the aid of a red sign
behind me. Let me know what you think!

TC, It was on a back road off highway 35 just a bit past the turn off to Dufer heading to Hood river. We drove in about 6 miles. I am a member of pacific Northwest Nature photographer. This was my first outing with them. They are awesome photogs. and give great input. You should give it a try.

Comments and critiques are welcome. Mt. Hood is supposed be in the
background on the right but it never broke through the clouds.

First of all, if you leave low ratings, you have to back it up with a comment or with a gallery that is awesome. As for this. I think it is totally horrible in every aspect.

.... I think you can do alot more justice to the area if some of these were in color. I know there isn't alot of color except for green and blue. I think Oregon deserves a little more than black and white. I know you are into B&W photography. Your images are outstanding and taken with great thought. I have lived here all my life and think the area is blessed with great color.

I would like to see more detail in the yellow patch.

I had my camera set at f16 on bulb. I placed my hat in front of the lens between bursts so I wouldn't overexpose the rest of the image. total time was around 20 seconds for the lens being open.iso 200
