patrick flood 0 Posted June 14, 2004 fantastic, the red in the highlights of the clouds is a little distracting. Link to comment

Erik Lundh 0 Posted June 15, 2004 I would like to see more detail in the yellow patch. Link to comment
stephan petersen 0 Posted June 15, 2004 Thats a nice one, i only would have pointed more in the direction of the sky, to avoid the horzontal line to be centered. But anyway. Great Colorcompostion! I wonder how it would look, if there where deep red flowers on the right. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted June 15, 2004 Thank you for your comments. I have tried to improve the photo according to your indications. Patrick, on the computer's screen on which I work today I can't see no red in the clouds, but I have take a bit red away. Is it better ? Erik, I have modify the gamma in the canopa field, to highlight more details. Is it sufficient ? Stephan, yes I understand, but this was my choice to separate the photo in four squares, because of the arrangement of the tree at the intersection of the two fields. Kyle, this composition is not unique. I have seen yesterday a similar one in the portfolio of another member (better than mine), and this is the reason why I have posted this. Link to comment
nuno_esteves1 0 Posted June 15, 2004 tell us the true, you have paint half of the picture ;-). great picture the nature give us things like this. regards Link to comment
guido_fulgenzi 0 Posted June 15, 2004 Really nice composition.I think the trees is too centered, but is still nice as it is. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted June 15, 2004 I personally like the idea of divinding the picture in four squares, and with this focal lenghts, I find the composition to have a pleasent equilibrium. Cheers, Link to comment
maria conversano 0 Posted June 15, 2004 Good conposition and colors. I agree with Salvatore. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted June 15, 2004 Yes Guido, I have tried also this croping. I like it too, but all the same, I find the tree is too "enclosed". Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted June 15, 2004 Love it the way it is. Excellent cropping & composition, colors, lighting, and general appeal. Pat yourself on the shoulder for me please. ^_^ Link to comment
micheleberti 0 Posted June 15, 2004 I really like the way u composed this shot... a breaking rules photo I would say. Isn't it? Anyway, I find the composition its self pretty original and the photo overall really looks like a painting to my eyes. Well done, congrats. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 15, 2004 I think I saw last weekend a BW photo like this here in the PN. Was it yours? Anyway I like this one very much Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted June 15, 2004 This photo is wonderful and creative and inspiring. I would normally not want to see such a thing centered ... but here it works. I say inspiring because an image like this makes me want to write a screenplay set here. Hmmm....... Link to comment
barry_needle 0 Posted June 15, 2004 Great shot Henri - very well considered. Perfect subject for the square crop, which is always powerful if the subject lends itself. Link to comment
nang 0 Posted June 16, 2004 brilliant colors and lovely concept. i wish the scan were a bit better - it seems oversharpened somewhat. Link to comment
michael_brown6 0 Posted June 16, 2004 Henri, well done mate! You deserve the accolades for this one. Link to comment
_dith_b. 0 Posted June 17, 2004 I have already seen exactly the same picture in a book, so it is not very original for me, but it is very beautiful and well composed. I think the original picture has a better composition compared to the rectangular version posted on this page. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted June 17, 2004 Thank you all for your comments and ratings. It is the first time that one of my photos reach this amount of ritings and comments, and sincerely I was expecting a medium amount (about 20 or 30 ratings max), what would have since delight me. And sincerely again, this is not my favourite photo. I often prefer photos of more beautiful landscapes, but they rarely get the success I hope. But this is the aim of Photo.net to learn to have a better judgment on your own work. Fernando. No, this black and white photo is from Rafal Rygorowicz. He also have post a colour photo of the same subject, very similar to mine in the spirit, and something funny was that at one moment the two photos were side by side in the "three last days photos" page. There is the adress of his photo : http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo.tcl?photo_id=2443329 Link to comment
jay_philbrick 0 Posted June 17, 2004 Beautiful and original. It's not often that you see such geometric, sharp, and colorful patterns in landscapes. Great work! Link to comment
