Is Alex Hofford your professional name? Just wondering. Nice shot. BTW, I agree with and appreciate the overwhelming majority of your comments on photography and politics. Thanks.

Good job getting this shot. When the content is powerful, technical faults can be overlooked, IMO. This is indeed a sign of the times.

Florencia - This looks very interesting and I'd like to see different angles and perspectives on this broken down car and its "home." Lots of potential here. This shot looks a little washed out, but that might be my monitor.
BTW, I spent a week in Montevideo about 15 years ago (when Menem was running for president of your neighbor). I enjoyed your city more than any other in South America. Hope I can return someday; you're fortunate to live there.
Regards,
Don

that's a scary shot, maybe taken through a window? Lots going on here, very interesting.

Well done. The off-center girl and the centered guys in coveralls draw me in. I like the low angle and the varied characters in this shot; you're really taking advantage of the medium format. Thanks.

Great face but the blown out (off!) hat doesn't do much for me.

I'm not sure what this is or how you did it, but I like the color streaming down and the railings flowing up. The hunched figure draws it al together. My nine year old son Jack likes it too, and he's a tough critic for PN shots. Thanks.

As earlier comment mentioned intensity, and that's a good starting point for appreciating this photo. Here's what contributes to the power of this image: The catch light, high contrast, details in the long hair and wispy moustache, and the diagonal line of the left part of the face. Sometimes a tight crop like this makes a face float, but I think the long hair and almost full nose/hint of a left eye prevent that from happening.
Nice. Now make one of your wife and post that!

Peaceful scene, well captured. I like the diagonal lines balanced against the vertical tree and flowing horizontals. It doesn't make me feel cold as much as serene.
I do wonder what you were standing on to take this - maybe this is your back yard...?

Jani - This is a very powerful image that cannot be appreciated on a computer monitor. Just below the center, the interaction between the top and lower clouds is fluid, uncertain, and interesting. If this were properly blown up and printed, I am not sure if I would like the pole in the bottom middle or not, but I think I would like the lights flickering in the houses below. No doubt a large, framed print of this would grab everyone's attention - dynamic colors and composition.
Well done. More when I get a break from work later in the week. Thanks.

The eyes, yes, wet tearful sad, incredible catchlights. You must have been very close (in every sense) to catch this. Very well done - just what I dream of making! How many mothers in the world feel the same way every day? Not only Kosovo but also Iraq, Lebanon, Israel, USA, etc. etc., (Remember the photo of Rodchenko's mother.) Thanks. This has the potential to be very powerful when it becomes more than an image.

Yeah, sitting with a cuppa and a paper, letting the world go by. Nice.

I'm a sucker for shots like this. Thanks. Would a filter have added something to the sky - just asking.

Yeah, you saw me, and if you had stuck around you would have seen the trout I caught...

Excellent catch. The reward for being there...
