1.
My bakery used a common $200 epson with super simple clip art software. I'd just supply a huge srgb jpg

 2. Fine, precise photo editing with a trackpad? It's hard enough with a mouse let alone the track pad so I'd say no to the question. However, I've never tried to make selections or masks with it. It's a task for the wacom, imo.
 3. 5) A MBP and install boot camp and Windows 10...no switching! I just did this on the weekend to my MBP but on Monday I returned to 70hr work-weeks on set and haven't dialed it in yet. "I'm wondering if and when, the MBPs, especially, but also PCs tech laptops will come with the capability for wider than Adobe RGB (1998)." Barry, RGB work space is offered on two Windows laptops that I know of: The Razer Stealth and the Dell XPS 15-inch. I would look at the Dell first for performance reasons. http://www.dell.com/en- us/shop/productdetails/xps-15-9550-laptop?ref=PD_OC
 4. OneDrive shows thumbnails of native raws and works with software that syncs your local storage. It's my first choice over dropbox and Google Drive for photos and graphics. Its too bad they stopped offering unlimited storage and didn't come through with a Windows 10 phone. I would have dumped my Google account and sold my Mac bookPeter for a Surface
 5. It might also be news, but you can download the app for your phone and have access to the files.
 6.
You'd appreciate the pair I'm using at work, Brooks

.
.

Nexus 6p & Snapseed App • EricMilner.com
.

 7.
Slow is a subjective term, Peter, but there's no mistaking that a four year old i7 MBP with 16gbs of ram is faster than a new i5 mini. I assume the op is looking for something more powerful than either the mini, mbp, or iMac. Has Mac even updated to the new Skylake yet? Anyways, building a PC Hackintosh with pci-e ssd drives is expensive but running one with normal ssd's, a powerful gpu, and 32gb of ram can be done for under $1400

 8.
The op is clearly looking for horsepower. Isn't a Mac Mini one the slowest Macs you can buy with a three year old i5 dual core and 8gb of ram?

It's too bad Mac chooses to ignore this market and offer us nothing between a Mac Mini and a Mac Pro. I'm certain that something with the same inards of an i7 MBP with 16gb of ram would sell well

 9. Thanks Sandy and Richard. Yes, what a slimy thing to do. I still have a bad taste in my mouth after they changed One Drive from unlimited storage to almost nothing. And no Windows phone. Oh well.
 10. How does the iPad perform with Adobe CC, PS & LR and varying Nik and VSCO plugins?
 11. "That comparison of "tablets" excludes the Surface for some reason. It's also a tablet" "I'm not sure what your point is." The point is that the industry, and myself, don't consider the SP4 a tablet. It's classed as a laptop convertible and is why it wouldn't be in the comparison. Tablets have mobile CPUs and mobile operating systems.
 12.
I define a tablet by having a mobile processor and a mobile OS. The Surface, to me, is a convertible laptop. David, do you have the docking station and find that there is enough ports for you on the SP4?

 13.
The internet says the SP4 has the best monitor available in the tablet class as well as the best in windows laptop class.

http://www.displaymate.com/Surface_Pro4_ShootOut_1.htm

https://www.reddit.com/r/Surface/comments/3rjjk0/display_calibration_results_for_my_sp4/

http://www.anandtech.com/show/9727/the-microsoft-surface-pro-4-review-raising-the-bar/6

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05bQmilugR8

all this talk, now I really want one

 14.

Now the new iPad Pro, much larger color gamut, a tad larger than Adobe RGB (1998) and fully color managed.

How does it perform with Adobe CC, PS & LR and varying Nik and VSCO plugins? Right...

 15.

I downloaded an application which quashes the endless Win10 nagging. If that fails, I'm moving to Mac rather than submit.

You're in for a surprise. I can't wait for my mbp to die or get too slow and get rid of it.

Not cool to have it forced on you, but why the reluctance to get W10? It hasn't auto downloaded onto my htpc but on my desktop, I went for W10 s soon as possible and find it's the best os yet from Windows. And safest. Just from a security stand point alone, I think it should be used.

 16.

JayDann and Barry: Mac is still a good option, particularly since I discovered that I can transfer my Adobe Cloud from Win to Mac. This is still the front-runner and thus far, the better option. Or so it seems.

Since the mid 90's and Photoshop 3, I'm on my third wave of Apple love and currently use a mbp with i7, 256 ssd, and 16gb of ram. Honestly, I can't wait for my mbp to die so I can get back to a windows laptop. The last three Apple os releases have been a disaster and the company is now a completely different beast with Cook at the helm.
My mbp is more delicate and vulnerable than a tablet (SP4) with its easily detachable keyboard. SP4's are used all over the movie sets I work on; they can handle your boat.

 17. 4) Surface Pro 4. And it's also a wacom type drawing tablet.
 18.

Again, it is perfectly normal and expected that two different raw converters would produce quite different visible color appearance from one another.
It is pointless and not expected that the same raw using the Adobe raw engine and the Nikon raw engine would match.

A lot of struggling, but glad you finally got it.

 19. "Factually and technically, that's utterly wrong and you have no data to back the statement up." So Wouter, Richard, and myself are incorrect? You didn't even understand the question let alone experience this common issue that the rest of us photographers have.
 20. "Got absolutely nothing to do with sRGB" Got absolutely nothing to do with the other 786 words you typed, either
 21. "But in the meantime, let's say the issue is that NX2 was using my in-camera settings, while Photoshop is showing in sRGB" I suspect it's the culprit as well. It's a common to see these two different files and is often the result of in-camera settings set to vivid or portrait etc and showing up in nx2 but not Ps/Lr as Adobe doesn't have access to the proprietary data of the nef. The Nikon Digital Camera Enthusiasts group on Fb is a great group if you wish to post there and avoid the static here.
 22.

I don't understand how you can see the NEF when you say you must first convert to DNG.

The nef that is opened in NX2 is displaying differently than the Nef converted to DNG then opened in Ps.

Do you have colour space, saturation, vibrancy etc set in your camera, Robert? Perhaps NX2 is using your in-camera settings and applying that profile to your nef?

 23.
Ignore the static, Benjamin. He drags the past into every new thread and derails them for innocent posters like yourself. He's an armchair photographer with four simple default answers: Apple, DNG, NEC, and Lightroom.

I've never worked with BenQ but instantly equate them as bottom of the barrel. It might not be a fair assement though. The Asus hardware I own has all been top notch and lasted and would choose Asus simply by habbit. I'd ask around though. The Facebook Adobe Lr and Ps group is huge with lots of photographers and you might find some people with experience with both monitors in question
