simply stunning! excellent control of all the variables. the overall coolness of the image is balanced perfectly by just enough color. stunning.

great shot. great story. it's why we do what we do. crazy reddish color in those aspen. do you see that a lot down there? i've never seen a stand like that up here in Alberta. good stuff Mark!

love it. moody and beautiful!

i'd really love to hear what folks think of this one. love it? or leave it?

constructive criticisms. cheers!!

i was very happy to have a chance to finally visit this Columbia Gorge
classic waterfall. thanks for viewing!!

after years of wishing to visit this place, i had the chance this July
as part of our epic honeymoon roadtrip. at Shi Shi we were given near
tropical like weather, without any of the tempestuous, dramatic
weather this place often attracts. with little in the way of clouds
around, there wasn't to be much color but i still loved this spot.
this is one of my favs. PLEASE VIEW LARGE. all thoughts and comments
are greatly appreciated!!

wonderfully tranquil shot. love the contrast between the smooth water surface and the sharp silhouetted trees. the gradation in the sky is beautiful. stronger color in the water would probably add just a bit, but i really quite like this the way it is. beautiful!!

another shot from an incredible evening at Rialto beach on
Washington's awesome Olympic coast. thanks for viewing!!

recently back from a most incredible time with my new wife on our
honeymoon. we traveled down much of the west coast from NW Washington
to S Oregon and on to San Fransisco. this shot was from a memorable
evening at Rialto Beach. thanks to all for comments, critiques or
simply for viewing.

simple, beautiful, elegant. when done right, it looks easy. i love everything about this!!

possibly the most artistic and well done snowman photo i've ever seen. and just a note to Mark and others, based on the snow drifting at the base of the snowman and the fresh snow plastered to its body, i suspect that the 'steam' is, in fact, blowing, howling snow. to put it mildly, i'm guessing it wasn't very warm when this pic was taken. great shot!!!

awoke to a cloudy morning in Jasper this past weekend. made my way
to the pre-selected 'sunrise shot' spot and waited. it wasn't long before i
realized there wasn't gonna be anything in the way of an actual sunrise
so i began looking for alternative comps that would play on the cold,
gloomy morning that it was. curious to hear your thoughts, comments
and critiques on this one. thanks for viewing!!

i love the perspective, but think this would benefit from some increased contrast and a bit more brightness. regardless, this is one heck of a scene!

wow! what a view and what a photo. i'm curious to know if this vantage point is accessible by trail or if this is a climbing shot?? i plan on visiting this area in 2011. thanks and great shot!!

taken over a year ago on a backpacking trip into Jasper's Tonquin
Valley. the morning began very misty (and cold) and it was only after
waiting for over an hour that the mist began to clear, slowly revealing the
mighty Ramparts across the lake. all thoughts, comments and
constructive criticisms are greatly appreciated. thanks for viewing!

iceland is a cool country. and this is a cool photo.

a minute before this it was sunny and clear, a minute later the fog had
totally obscurred the sun. talk about rapidly changing conditions! all
thoughts, comments and constructive criticisms are greatly
appreciated. cheers!

taken during an evening outing to Elk Island National Park. this was
just before a heavy bank of fog rolled in, obscuring much of the
color. i was standing shin deep in muck, it was cold, calm and dead
quite except for the sounds of a very large bison grazing nearby. a
really neat feeling.

taken about an hour after the sun dropped below the horizon, this is a
20 or 30 second exposure taken along the Athabasca River. curious to
hear your thoughts. thanks for stopping by!

i love this type of pic! nothing but the grandeur of the mountains. good work!!

i captured this one a few weeks back on a way too short visit to the
Lake O'hara region of Yoho National Park, BC, Canada. the weather was
gloomy with scattered showers giving us little hope for anything at
sunset. but having made the trip there we figured we'd head out
anyways. i did manage to get in position just in time to capture this
slice of light that lasted less than a minute. all thoughts, comments
and critiques are greatly appreciated. thanks for viewing!!
