Hello,
I just bought a type-3 Summicron 35mm/2 lens (so far my costliest lens).
Can you tell me if the square hood for the 4th-version 35'cron will work with
this lens?
Can I use it on top of a 39mm screw-on filter? (I already know about the
original hood for the 3rd version).

Also, another question about old LTM lenses: can anyone tell me what the number
on the back of the infinity catch/lock means (e.g. on the Summar)?

Searched the forum w/no luck. Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, a Standard has a standard screw mount, a Leica 1 has a non-standard mount, so can't use LTM lenses.

Discontinued, however generally means an increase in price, specially of the black version. I think the price is still the same at CameraQuest, but its gonna go up (just like all other discontinued black VC lenses)...so get yours while its cheap (if you need/want it).

Thanks Scott, Larry, and Ron! Much appreciated.

Hi guys,
I just bought two Watson bulk film loaders, one with some TX leftover inside. Is
there any quick way to check whether it has been exposed to light (other than
taking some shots and developing it fully)?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Shakil

Travis, nice show man!

ugh...I guess I mean: there are plenty of room for error tolerance...

Good question Alex; I'd also like to know.
Good luck. Developing film is very easy. There are a lot of room for errors, and its hard to mess up, since you can do the whole process with lights on. I'm going to try to print for the first time; I have 95% of the equipments required, but I'm also really terrified to start :)

Summicron 35mm hood query + old LTM lens question
in Leica and Rangefinders
Posted
Thanks John, Chuk. So it has the same meaning as in the rigid summicron (although the number is not under the infinity catch on the summicron). Not sure how I forgot about that.
Any help on the hood will be appreciated.
Cheers,
Shakil
