Michail: not without a great amount of irony we could humbly quote Dante's words:

Cerbero, fiera crudele e diversa,/con tre gole caninamente latra/sovra la gente che quivi è sommersa - Cerberus, cruel monster, fierce and strange, / Through his wide threefold throat, barks as a dog / Over the multitude immersed beneath.

Anyway I couldn't reach those benches without receiving a nice, warm and wet welcome hug by that gentle hell-hound.

Dan: maybe this shot is not one of my best, but I love it, mostly for how I got it, directly from my belly, without raising the camera to the eye. This is why it possibly conveys a strong sense of being there.

and we have an interesting repetition too (the arrow formed by the shadows is mirrored by the pose of the model's left arm. In my humble opinion while the dress has a good point of black, I feel that white is somehow missing in the lighter parts of the shot (mostly on the wall): maybe a bit more contrast could have been beneficial to the shot ? @Carlos : this shot has been really taken in a hurry, and when I mean in a hurry I mean really really fast. I foresee the shot while waiting for the green light at a crosswalk. The traffic light went red, green for pedestrians, and I had to quickly move on the left of the Elegant Lady Lost in Her Morning Thoughts and kneel in the middle of the road. You summarized it very well: a magical impulse inspired by grace. Isn't this a statement that could be applied to photography in general ?

(on a side note, just to add my 2 cents of hopefully constructive thought, I am a bit uncertain about the lower left corner. Better leave it untouched, or just overexpose it to achieve a completely white negative space ? ... I really am uncertain, although almost always I tend to choose a not too much invasive post production).

Dear PN friends. This shot was taken through the closed window of a restaurant while having lunch in the days when PN, and photography in general, had been removed almost totally from my life due to the fact that family and work problems had a very severe impact on my well-being. I remember seeing the man with the umbrella slowly entering the scene from the bottom and the urge to grab the camera, stand up and nonchalantly shoot while waiters and clients were staring perplexed at me. Ah, Photography is fun.

Glad you like it, a big thank you to you all and some explanations about the title.

Now that things are going way better, I have decided to share this shot with PN community with a title both referencing the sad interlude in my life and the sense of coming back to photography from a distant time (Back to the Future):

Tears in Rain.

work, full of life and colors. As far as the story behind the shot, sometimes I have faced the same situation of yours. This is the street, and - in some places and circumstances - people asking for money because of their "modelling" is part of the game. Same happens here in Italy with street sellers or beggars, and this is one of the reasons why I have almost stopped taking their pictures. Anyway, good work here, thanks for sharing, G.
