The shadows on her face are not quite adequate to make it dramatic enough. Her nose looks to me could use more shadow to make it look more 3 dimensional. Posing and composition great btw.

my first try at the style.. how is it?

Yes. I am lucky. Some models are really beautiful. The above model was Miss Universe Hungary in 2005... No wonder she is beautiful!!!
Thx For the comments...

How do you like this phot? I made the bw conversion in lightroom.

the eyes are a bit overprocessed.

good idea

Better composition, yet eyes are not in focus. I find focus and recompose makes the eyes come out of focus when using large aperture. Do you also do this? better to change the focus point and not to recompose.

Lighting is ok, I find the background color distracting, and the palms are also a bit aquard. Nice start though...

I'll give it a try on my next image!

I didnt notice the line of the hood. Its as it was, no retouch on it. I can only use the dodging tool in photoshop, which makes white into gray... it looks fake as I do it.. Might be a better way still. I will look into it.
Thx for your comments..

Do you find it too much post processed? His nose i but burned out. How
is it?

I use a canon 1ds mk1. I also have a 1d mk1 and that has nice detail in the highs but not like the 1ds. Also the shadow setail is much much better with the 1ds. Not perfect though. Sometimes hee is horizontal banding in the shadows... Dunno how the new cameras handle shadow, but the highlights are pretty good with these oldtimers too. thx for contributing critiue.

tighter crop two hird of the face. How do you like it? is the bottom
part too slopy? she should have worn something that shows less of her
neck.. no?

I use lightroom, and I use selective color adjustments, so it is possible, that when I adjust 1 color it changes another tone if it has the same color in it. I wish lightroom had the ability to do what lightzone does, namely that I could select specific areas with a lasso tool, and apply changes only to that area. I use lightroom, because I can shoot tethered to it. I started a month ago and its just addictive to see almost instablty the pictures and adjust them on the fly with my presets.
