Hi there guys,
The data provided by most film for HC-110 is only dil.B (1:31).
I would like to know how do I compensate/calculate the development
time for other dilutions like C,D,E,F etc.
Data sheet for HC-110 provided by Kodak doesn't say anything about
this and I hope someone can help me out with this.
Also, I would like to know the more diluted the solution is, how does
the it behave? Contrast, sharpness, grain, etc.
Any advice and guidance will be fully appreciated, so please feel
free to comment.
Thanks in advance!!
**Cheers**

Dear all,
I thank all for all the kind advices and guidance, and the fast response too! I will try out Neopan 1600 as this is the most reasonable in price fast film availabe here in Japan. I have some HC-110 in my darkroom what I need now is to get some Rodinal. The problem here is that we very limited varities of developers. We do not have some developers that are only availabe in the States and Europe. I would love to try out various developers. The ones I am using now are HC-110, T-MAX, and dev. by Fuji.
I will try out and experiment with a few other combinations of films and dev.
We'll see what happens and I am eager to know the results of the experiments myself.
Thanks again guys!!
Last of all, other comments and advices are welcome anytime!!

Hi there.
I would like to know how to get a beautiful sharp, very grainy and
high contrast negative, with not much details in the shadows and not
much gray tones (ideally only black and white, not much gray tones).
I know that using high speed film will get me a grainy negative, and
with a red fliter on while shooting I will get a contrasty negative.
Also printing with a hard paper like no 4 will help to get the effect
I want.
Also I understand that developing temp. does effect the graininess of
the film. I know that different developers have different
characteristics on grains and I would like to know which developer
will give a sharp and beautiful grainy effect.
It would be lovely if someone could kindly advise how do I achive
the "special effects" what I want; the combination of films,
developers, time and temp. Also advice and details on push processing.
BTW I do my own developements and printings.
Thanks in advance and I will really appreciate any advice and
guidance given by anyone.
Cheers!!

Don't worry. I am an avid user of HC-110, it works wonderful years even the bottle in not full( this is what I was told). But for very critical, important films it is better to do a trial before using it.
Last of all I think HC-110 is the only availabe developer which has no shelf life, it lasts for ages (or even generations...sorry to exaggerate)

I am a user of Fortepan film, I have pushed ASA100 film to 400 and I
was wondering how I should develope this film.
According to the data provided by the manifacturer
(1) HC110, 20C, 4 min.
(2) T-MAX, 20C, 5.5 min
There is no information on push developing and I hope someone can
advise me in developing this film.
By the way I am also thinking pushing ASA400 film to 800 or 1600 to
see how the film's character, grain etc.
(1) HC110, 20C, 7.5 min.
(2) T-MAX, 20C, 8 min
Could someone please advise me in the developing time of both films.
I remember that there are rules/equation to determine the developing
time. Could someone please advise.
Thank you!!!
