  1. Thanks everyone for the kind remarks. When I posted the sand dune picture someone commented that it needed some camels. So many months later I tried this and thought it was pretty funny. The dunes are from Death Valley and the ostrich racer is from the Date Festival in Indio California. Regards, Becky

    Thank you Tommaso.

Thanks Jerry. I tried desaturating and blurring the background but I didn't come up with anything that looked natural to my eyes. So this is pretty much out of the camera. I did remove a rope with flags behind which the spectators sat because it was going right through the dog's mouth. A little crop, sharpening and color/contrast adjustment.

Thanks Mike, yes it is an Aussie, one of my favorite breeds.

Thanks again Tim. I really appreciate when someone takes the time to share their thoughts as to how a picture can be improved. Your suggestion was something I had not even thought about and it makes a huge improvement in the presentation of the image. You can critique my pics anytime and I appreciate the wealth of your experience. Thanks!

I like the backlighting in this photo. Some postprocessing to sharpen it up a little and remove the magenta color cast...

Great picture, may be stronger cropped to a square format. Wonderful idea and execution in excellent lighting.

    Thanks Kenneth!

Hi Walter! The tail is a little silly looking I agree. I left it in because cropping would cut the image too close to Mollie's nose and I think she needs some room in front of her face. She is a silly pup after all... Thanks for stopping by! Regards... Here is the full frame

  2. Nice photo Alexander! I love the silhouette of the tree before the moon... I like your critique request also, venturing out. Maybe an angle that excludes the lights of the building next time. You could perch a family member in the branches in a dramatic pose, tee hee. Stretch, feels good. :) Cheers!
