This is a great portrait Regina! very soft and delicate light both on the hat and the face. it is very interesting that there is no shadow of the hat on the face, did you use fill flash or a reflector? I just wish he was looking right into the camera.

I prefer removing it without cropping (using clone tool), the girl is placed perfectly in the frame now, cropping will make the photo unbalanced IMO.

Good lighting and details, I wonder why you like your boy look like an elf ;) the stretching doesn't work for me at all.

Exactly what quickly came to my mind when saw the thumbnail Rev. "a great photograph lacking contrast" ;) lovely expressions and nice composition well done Brett. I hope to see the corrected version of this soon!

I agree with Carsten, the bad weather adds to the aesthetics of this photo I like the clouds, the problem is softness, seems to be a very small crop of a large photo.

BTW, if you can't difference between all blocks above your monitor is not capable or is not well adjusted to show very dark shades and you are not seeing all the details present in this photo.

PNet decreased the quality of this photo too much after uploading,

the original photo has much richer colors, the recompression made it

look like sepia :( I couldn't help posting because I'm really eager

    to know you opinion.

Your original photo was somewhat lifeless but I knew it has the potential to become a good photo but didn't know how. You brought life to your photo with the effect. well done.

This was a great photo if the girl was not underexposed and the crop was a bit tighter. I think you can solve the underexposure problem in PS if you spend quite a bit of time.
  1. Evan, The composition is good, the problem with this photo is that everything looks too blurry, you should have used faster shutter speed for this shot, which perhaps was not possible with the lens you have and the light condition in the scene, the solution is to use a faster lens or a higher ISO film. you also have some excellent photos in your portfolio so I think you must know these basic techniques. I mention just because you asked for it ;) keep up the good work.
