yeah its an okay record shot but at the very least you need to crop it and get rid of peoples' heads! You need to be far closer for effective gig photography, its a tad dark but I'm guessing you used pop up flash on it? Grab a fast 50mm lens and load up with Fuji NPZ800 and shoot at f/2.8 or more and youll start getting nice results. Meter for flesh tones and at these gigs where you can go to the front by the stage and shoot without passes / permission, have fun with it. Its trial and error and will take time.

yeah its not great as its soft, but then again you shot from the crowd as a paying customer so you shouldn't expect much more than record shots. The colours are okay, but the crop simply doesn't work. Gig photography is hard to master and you'll only do that by getting passes to get you in front of the crowd or having the proper accreditation to move around. You'd have got a better shot using the 50mm and cropping it after in PS.

solid shot, well exposed.
-
its an unusual angle but would have worked better with more of the guitarist in it. I agree with the previous comment - it looks soft - no, I wouldn't enter it.

nice!
-
lots of mood in that lighting - great! Personally though I'd have cropped out some of the bottom and right black but keeping the 6x4 format.

Ginger from The Wildhearts shot in available light.

yeah, I photograph gigs all the time. The way you've increased the grain in PS doesn't do the image any favours. You needed to get another 1.5 or so stops of light into this to get some detail in the face.
-
the smoke is fantastic and you've exposed this really well. How about a really tight crop on the top half of the singer? I think you'll find it really increases the intensity.
-
great lighting
-
nice subtle lighting but almost too dark
-
nice intensity. I'd have liked to see this in colour, or maybe with a touch of slow sync flash??
-
very nice, but the background is distracting. Did you shoot wide open at f/2.8 or more?
-
you need to crop out the heads at the bottom. Otherwise, not a bad effort from the crowd.
-
good lighting on the DJ, but its all a little out of context
-
you need a closer portrait crop to get rid of the crowd and lighting.
-
maybe a touch dark but good timing and 'feel'
-
cracker as ever Chris! The guy's interaction on the right makes this! Nice pose!
-
face is a little dark unfortunately.

Ginger from The Wildhearts in mid air. Shot at 1/10 sec with slow
sync flash. Thoughts appreciated. Neil
