Family walk in a "ghost town"... Bodie, CA.

Zabriskie Point sunrise in infrared. Comments/critiques welcomed.
Thanks.

Excellent shot and depth of field.
I'm not sure if you cropped the image at all, but one thing to keep in mind is that you'd have a nearly impossible time matting and framing this image. I try to think in these terms when shooting, so perhaps a little further back and give just a little more space at the bottom and more sky on top. Otherwise you're going to cut something off and lose the balance of the photo.
Well done tho', the Racetrack is on my "to do" list.

Not sure about the "category" here, doesn't fit, but I took it for
the sake of "fine art," so works for me.
8 source image mosaic, 43 megapixel output. #87 IR filter (100%
opaque)... all images f22, 6 second exposure.
Comments/critiques welcomed. Thanks.

This is a place that I know and love, but the image seems ver contrasy to me... particularly shadows and darkness in the lower right.
It also has the appearance of a split horizon, a crop from the top might help a little bit in that respect.
PS this is looking East right? e.g. you drove down to the end of the road and shot back towards the road that you drove in from.

Yes, all vertical.
More like 18 across the top... bracketed even and -1.5 on the top row on 9 "scenes" for a total of 18 images. Then another 6 across the bottom.
Lots of overlap on the top due to less "control point" matching. It is hard to "match" the sky, so you need more options, including more of the foreground for the matching.
Edit: the math above is wrong, but you get the point.

Probably about 8... I forget!

Heather: correct on both counts. There's crazy detail in this image and would look tack great even @ 12x18.
The field of view is equivalent to a 8mm lens on a 35mm body, or a 5.25mm lens on a (non-full frame) digital SLR.

There looks like some wild lens distortion on the lower right corner.
-
Lovely composition, but the depth of field looks very shallow. What was the aperature?

I definately went past Alberta Falls to get there.

The random footprints aren't doing anything for me, in fact they detract from the scene.

Meant to put this in the landscape critique, not nature.

26 Source Images... 78 Megapixel Output. Comments/critiques welcomed.

25 image digital mosaic... 79 megapixel output. 190 degree field of
view. Comments/critiques appreciated. Thanks.

Not to be a pain, but there is a difference between being in a shadow and having no detail at all. I agree w/ the ND Grad comment.

14 image stitched panoramic, 7 individual "scenes": even and +2ev,
blended). 58 megapixel output.

Great photo... wouldn't work w/o the elk.
If I had one critique it would be how tight the shoreline is the bottom of the image. When framed and matted that would get cut off. But, I know how difficult it can be to get panoramics spaced properly... it gives me fits sometimes.

Sorry, but it is totally blown out.

Where in RMNP is this? I've only been there once, but before I even looked at the details to see where it was it looked very familar. I hiked up to Black Lake and there was a scene that looked a bit like this along the way.

Wonderful to see other folks posting mosaics... something I've recently taken up. Is this over near Cathedral Beach?
