I enjoy the minimalism of this image better than the other one that you've posted. The background in the other was a bit too crowded for my tastes in the style of photo you're presenting.

In the future I might suggest that since the stalk is leaning right that you put it in the left of the frame to give it some more "room" and have the the emptyness on the right.

Do a Google search on "hyperfocal"... too hard to explain here.

As an example. If you had a 20mm lens and were about 3 feet from the flower, if you manually set the focus to about 5 feet @ f22, everything would be in focus from the flower to the house.

I know this is a teeny JPG, bu the peaks look a little soft to me. Again, probably the size and compression.

Nice to see that you waited for the good light, but I am a bit confused about the lack of detail in the canyon. Not sure if something's up w/ the scan or not.

Also, I see this was f11... what was the focal length, and what was the focus distance. I find it quite distracting that the right hand horizon is out of focus. w/ a wide lens you should have been able to capture more detail, so I thinking that the focus point was too close.
