christiankiely 0 Posted December 18, 2005 Where in RMNP is this? I've only been there once, but before I even looked at the details to see where it was it looked very familar. I hiked up to Black Lake and there was a scene that looked a bit like this along the way. Link to comment

satishnair 0 Posted December 19, 2005 Thanks for your comments.... Christian: Sprague lake is on the Bear Lake road. Black lake is in the same general vicinity; you may well have hiked by Sprague lake / Alberta Falls / Glacier falls to get to Black Lake. Link to comment
christiankiely 0 Posted December 19, 2005 I definately went past Alberta Falls to get there. Link to comment

kahkityoong 0 Posted December 20, 2005 Great composition. On the verge of oversaturation but not overstepping the line as the colours still look believable. Link to comment
toddk1 0 Posted December 21, 2005 I will have to disagree with the over saturation comment. I spent a lot of time in this area and this is what it looks like. This is well done and original as far as the angle of view goes. Every shot I've taken and seen of this lake always included Hallet Peak. As if there was some sort of rule that you had to include it. Well done! Link to comment
kahkityoong 0 Posted December 21, 2005 I think the colours are saturated, presumably in part due to use of the polarizer, but not overly so. It's a great shot which is why I rated it 6/7. Link to comment
satishnair 0 Posted December 23, 2005 Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. What might be thought of as over-saturation is a combination of the polarizer and a slight touch-up in Photoshop. I tried to render the scene just as I saw it in real life that evening (actually it was later than 9 pm, the sun still high in the sky). Link to comment
