My longest shot is 30 seconds so I can't comment on the over 3 mins but in the hand book they recommends that all shots over 1 second should use noise reduction. Wonder what firmware they used in the tests.

the MK II was my first "SLR" and the reason I've stuck with Minolta over the years. Don't know what happened to it or where it is :(

In less than two weeks at Hockenheim F1 track is the Jim Clark

I have a Dynax 7 and 7D plus several lenses ranging from 19 to
500mm. Any one here have a lot of experience in the field of motor
sport that could leave a few tips. Thanks

In just under 2 week is the Annual Jim Clark revival. Im looking
forward to it and have a little experience photographing motor
sport. But any tips would be greatly appreciated.
I attempted panning last year at a few events with some success.

Every time i buy a new lens I say thats it I don't need any more.

I have the Sigma 170-500mm and find the AF to slow for a birding lens. Look for a 400, 500 or 600mm prime (but it wont be cheap)

There are 2 old DSLRS from Minolta RD175 and RD3000

The 175 used normal Minolta AF lenses and the 3000 used Minolta AFV lenses.

This might sound dumb but why dont you just get something like a horizon 202 or if you have more money a x-pan.

ooops looks like my camera could be a weapon of mass destruction. dumb typo

I have just tried to order some spear parts from a KM repair centre. And the tech told me that he will try to send it out to me but as of this morning they have been having problems getting parts. They are not informed as to what is happening but the rumour is that Sony will take over repairs and that KM will provide them with parts for 7 years. Also that the handover isnt going as well as planed and my need to be pushed back until 1/7/06. But this is all only rumour.

Its a bit confusing when you say pan in reference to Panorama. As panning (pans) are when you follow a moving object with the camera. I have a panorama head for my tripods but hardly ever use it as I can take everything with me every time I go out. I find a sprit level on the tripod good enough and then tidy it all up the over hang by cropping in Photoshop.

also try
www.dynaxdigital.com
there is plenty of info on lenses/flashes etc

The biggest problem with stitching images is when a shot in the middle has a different EV to the rest of the panorama. Try taking a meter reading then setting your manually so all shots are all with the same EV.

I only had it with an old sigma lens. Shake it abit and it worked.

I read somewhere that a lot of Zeiss lenses are made by Tamron and Sony have their finger in the Tamron pie. But this topic has come up here so often in the last few months.

this is the guy to talk to about this problem

as far as i know
-
the official hand over isn't until march who knows whatメs going on in the background...
-
Yeaa LOL but who knows what is going to come.

Michael is correct you will only get what you pay. There are several OK third party lenses that wont break the bank, the main problem is some of them are getting hard to find try looking at the Tamron 200-500mm (new around 800 euro) or a second hand Sigma 170-500mm (3-400 euro second hand, slow auto focus) they my do the job you want.
Any experiences with service/support since hand over?
