    Twilight Tide

    Ooooh nice!

The only critisism I could give of this is that the reflection of the clouds in the forground is a bit distracting. I think it would be better if it was toned down a bit. Lovely sky though!

  1. My first proper cycle of the year - and my first post here for many a

month... While heading east for a Sunday cycle I spied the light, that

beautiful ethereal light that only comes with the lengthening days of

winter. I screetched to a halt and dug out my camera. I find this shot

somehow melancholy, perhaps it's the solitary figure, perhaps the light.

    What do you think?

Luke, what a stunning photo. The feeling of movement is superb (the guy nearest looks like he's just about to fall off his horse). timeless sort of photo - it could be during the first world war...

    good work. :)

How someone can rate this a 2/3 and not even bother to leave a comment is beyond me... If they want to do that they should be FORCED to leave a comment explaining why... I really like this - I assume its rust - and the title does it credit. Well observed and captured.

    :o)

    6/6 from me.

6/7 for this. It's a great image! I agree with the others, it's a superb, funny and original shot. I just wish I'd thought of it...

Antonio the expressions say it all. The happiness is plain for all to see. a superb shot and a great moment. Congratulations on another great photo, and congratulations to your friends for their success! bravo.
  2. I spied the sky from my window and jumped onto my bike. A mad cycle along the coast road brought me to Cramond where the Romans once had their most northern port. Just offshore is Cramond Island - you can get to it by a tidal causway but I've never managed to get there (I don't fancy spending a night stuck on a windswept hill waiting for low tide!). The Island and the causway are visible but it was the sky that caught my eye...

Gah! I was going to say Galway!! have you tried these in B&W? just a thought but I think it would look really dark and broding if the blue sky was a shade of grey... but then again thats just me :)
  3. Cheers for the comment Stephane - I like the fact that its blue, I have a pile of photo's of this scene that are dramatic and red but I think that this cloud formation and the weather on the night (very still, close and showers all around me) are accurately reflected in this shot. Still, photography is all about subjectivity. :o)

To me the clouds have the same 'feel'.
