Why do I love Newhaven? Apart from living in this old fishing village - now part of the city of Edinburgh - it played a bit part in the birth of photography (Hill and Adamson did their bit down here). It has a nice feeling to take pictures down here where those fathers of photography explored the art we now take for granted.
I don't think they had the lighthouse or the gasworks to take pictures of though... :op

*sigh*, just as i remember it.
Great shot, you captured it beautifully. :o)
Check out my shots of Italy if you get the chance.

Glencoe is a dramatic and dangerous place, people die on these mountains with frightening regularity. I like the dark brooding feel to this shot. What do you think?
-
The original is pin sharp (I have a 16x12 of it on my wall) but the compression musta made it lose some of its sharpness I suppose :\

This is a shot of the Hoodoos in Alberta (Canada). It was in the middle of winter and bloody cold!
Still I think it was worth it for the picture. what do you think?

Sitting underneath him in the pit with a 20mm lens. :)
I used to do an awful lot of gig work (my ears have never recovered). I'll try and dig some more out and stick it up here.

Hi Wojtek, I like this shot it has that cold, winter feel about it and the blue really works. Did you add it in photoshop or was that the actual colour when you took it?
I think that cropping the foreground out would enhance the picture. What do you think?

Comments welcome. :o)

I agree, its not an original shot but I loved the mood - and its quite rare to get that empty feel on the Ponte Vecchio (I'm sure you can imagine the hundreds of tourists swarming around behind me).

Grazie Antonio!! I think your shot of Napoli is stunning and didn't need to be photoshopped as much as this one!
I hope you have a big print of it hanging on your wall. It deserves it.

Excellent Photojournalism work Antonio - I can't add much more than whats already been said. It really captures the emotion of the moment. Bravo.

Wow, I love all of these. stunning observations, excellent colours...
Great job!!

very nice - yet strangely disturbing. dont quite know why...
I keep expecting a man with a mask to emerge stage right. :o)
Vety good shot. nice toning too.

Holy F*ck! Very impressive, very, very impressive. I really like it and it sends shivers down my spine.
Reminds me of Il Signore Degli Anelli, dont know why tho' :o)

This is on my way to the local pub, in deepest darkest Leith. Its a joiner comprising of three photos manually stitched together. I like it (obviously) but what do you think?

No, I LOVE the contrast! Its a really, really good pic. Just right for a Milka (Chocolate) Advert...

This was taken at about 3.30 in the morning of summer solstice.
Abandoning the party in the woods we headed down to the beach to watch
the sunrise on the longest day.

Right, this is NOT a photo - I know that. But it did start out as one and it has photographic elements. The title says it all.
Punch n' Judy anyone (whatever did happen to judy??)
Comments, as always, appreciated.

Yip, you are right Gary, it does improve it! thanks for the tip :)

This is heading north towards Portree - the main town on Skye - and it caught my eye. It was taken with a 200mm lens from the other side of the loch.
-
I really like this! beautiful colours and sense of motion. very nice.
Thanks for dropping by my portfolio and rating my hometown - much appreciated. :o)

Well, this was taken just along from my house, with a 200mm if I remember correctly. I personally like the large expanse of sea in the foreground, what do you think?

Yeah, its nice in B&W Blagoy. Its hard to see in the image here, but his smile is a bid unhinged (more of a mad smile I thought) and so thats why I created this dark image.
