  1. I have one of those. What @NMGPhotos said, you press the trapezoidal black plates inwards (to the bellows) to close. May take a bit of force if rusted. No obvious damage is seen in your pictures. Your Novar is a fine lens below f/5.6. I cannot identify the crack in the picture, maybe a large close-up is needed for my old eyes.
  2. Rick, Gary, I had a similar mystery scratch problem in my Super-Isolette. The cause was finally found as contact of some part in the back of the lens assembly or the bellows with film, when the bellows were closed. Winding only when the bellows were open solved the issue. It could be barely seen with bellows closed and a metal ruler over the film gate, but it was there and the contact fitted the scratch position. It took several rolls and two trips to the tech. The clue was that in some cases the scratch was not there, with two shots made in rapid succession.

  12. Thanks for the review, John. It looks like an excellent MF folder, would love to see pictures from it. I have used the plastic cover in office folders to restore red windows, with good results. Often the windows have some sealing material around the inside, and the color or density might not be as critical as the seal. I remember seeing some old cameras that actually had yellow windows.
  13. Thanks! This Super-Isolette came from my late father, I treat it as a family jewel.
  14. My Autocord has a broken focus lever but I can live with it. This week, testing a shipment of an old favorite film with subjects in the fishing harbor and maybe in a street market.
