This is a great angle of view. As if we were flying with the bird. If only both wings were in the frame this would deserve top marks. Well done all the same.

Almost the same subject... The water in my photo is frozen though. Well executed, as usual.

I've only been away for a day and look at what you've done. Better than any soap opera ;)

Sounds like a rather poor performance from PP.

Congratulations for the publishing on December's PP. The printing ont he magazine appears toned. Was that intentional? I much prefer the pure B&W posted to PN. Cheers,
Stefano

The sepia coloring works a treat with this subject. To be picky I would have liked to see the top of the branch. Nice composition all the same. BTW, congratulations for the impressive portfolio. Cheers,
Stefano

Very interesting graphical pattern. Well noticed and captured. The lack of detail in the sky IMO helps the appreciacion of the pattern and would not have it any other way. Cheers, Stefano

A little bit more DOF would have allowed us to see more clearly the separation of the railtrack to the right. IMO it would have added interest. Regards,

I don't know why you're wishing stuff like that Tony. I wish I was in Sidney right now (springtime yeah?) taking Cartier-Bresson "imitations" as good as yours. Cheers.

I must add that I don't mean any disrespect for Dan, who IMO is a truly fine photographer.

Well.... it makes for a shocking picture.... at first sight.

Another two people in the frame, further away, yet larger? ....or am I seeing things?

A graduated filter would have helped in keeping some detail in the sky.

Beautifully executed. Thanks for sharing.

Jerry, "casetta rosa" means "the pink little house". My guess is that the colour is exactly as we see it in the photo, not uncommon in some parts of Italy.
By the way, the photo is attentively composed. Congratulations for seeing the potential.
Cheers.

Simone, mi piace molto questa foto anche se a mio parere la compositzione potrebbe essere migliore. Ti mandero' via email un suggerimento per una variazione. Ciao

Excellent take. I love the long shadows as they make the ground look like a patch quilt, due to the intersecting lines. Although compositionally spottles I am somehow distracted by the darker line at the bottom of the frame and I would remove it.

Cropping, focus and exposure are spot on. This is a great photo. COngratulations and regards, Stefano

I really enjoyed looking at your portfolio. I love your uncommon technique and admire your ability to look at subjects from a different angle. This photo is no exception. I can feel the power and almost hear the noise. Congratulations and regards,
Stefano

Robert,
First of all I like the toning as it works well with the subject, especially the sky.
Ii seems to me that the girl on the left was simply there and doesn't belong to the picture. IMO this works against the overall aestetic for two reasons: First she's not looking at the leaving boat (no adios amigos from her). Second it balances the photo and disrupts the composition. All in all, IMO the photo would have been stronger without the girl. By the way, great portfolio. Regards, Stefano
