Paul, my apology. You are right it is 111 and not 111F. Thank you, kind regards. Afzal

John, you are right. I mostly use my Nokton on my M3 and M6 with an adaptor. Other wise I have 3.5/50 Elmar for my Leica 111. But I also have 2/50mm summitar on my Leica 111F black dial which I love. Horses for courses as they say.I also enjoy using 3.5/28mm with external viewfinder. This one is great fun to use, honest !<div></div>

Bottle it and sell it under a brand name. There should be enough supply if you line up the entire extended family.

Fantastic - you are an inspiration to all of us.

Going to Cape Town South Africa in April for 2 weeks. Are there any leica shops
there? Does anyone know interesting places there or thereabouts for good
photography, places to visit, places not to visit - any hints or tips will be
most welcome.Planning to take M6 with 2 lenses and my Nikon D200 with 18-200mm
lens. What more do I need? Thank you.

M6 ttl is a slightly larger body, by few mm only. Will the goggles of 2.8/135
align with the viewfinder of M6ttl (.85). Many thanks.

Last year I was shooting with my M6 in Pakistan when the temperature was 51 degree C. The shutter was fine and the film advance was as smooth as butter.

Leica M3 with "L" seal intact - is this an advantage or a disadvantage? The
intact "L" seal indicates that the camera is in its virgin condition and has
never been CLAed. On the other hand no seal would indicate that it was serviced
at some stage ( Hopefully?). Any view on this?

If he is a good friend, give him your suggestions and leave it at that. why are you pushibg a film camera down his throat?? You will soon turn from a friend to "pain in the @rse".

I think the same happens with M2s as well. Is that correct?

Wonderful- it is nice to see families sit down for a meal - not very common these days except for special occasions.

Hi Eric,
Xpans are wonderful cameras with excellent built. I have had one for about three years now and I use it regularly. Hasselblad has assured service for the next ten years, so why worry? There is not much that can go wrong to need spares. I would go for Xpan any time, if you already have a Leica MP.
