Tri-X @ 3200 developed in Rodinal for 33 minutes, agitation every 5 minutes. The best recipe for low light pictures. Mine anyway :-)

Hi there,
I'm very happy with my 90mm TE but the focusing ring is a bit sticky
compare to my 35 and 50 summicron. Basically it's not smooth as I
would like to. Is there anything I can do by myself or am I better off
to have it CLAed by some specialist (DAG ? Sherry ?)
Thanks !

Ok, so I think the concensus is to buy a used one between $100 and $150 and try it. Looks like I'll do that if I can find a seller. There has been nothing on Ebay for the past few weeks, but I'll keep watching.
Thanks all for your opinion on the matter !

Hi there,
I'm interested in the x1.25 magnifier from Leica to use with my M6
0.72. I use mostly a 50mm and I'm starting to really like my 90mm TE.
What do people think about this magnifier ? Is it worth the high price ?
Thanks !

Hey Ben, all this gear talk is great, but ... what did you do in Paris ? Where did you go ? What did you enjoy ? How were the people ? The atmosphere ?
I believe this is what we want to know ... ;-)

Hey Anthu, what the big deal about wanting to put my gear in a bag ? When I go on week-end with my family, I don't want to leave my gear in the trunk of my car.
I don't need an expensive bag, but I need a "container" .. Why is it so hard to understand ?

Thanks for the pointer John. They're nice but quite expensive ... :-(

The whole roll is like that ...
Hi there,
I've shot a roll of Tri-X @ 3200 during memorial week-end while
camping. Camera was a Canonet QL17. I've just developed the film using
Rodinal 1:50 @ 68F durin 33 minutes with 2 agitations every 5 minutes.
Here is one picture .. Not the greatest picture but I'm impressed with
the grain at 3200. I was expecting so much more ! This is definitely a
good combination !
Welcome to another great thread about bags for our beloved
rangefinder. I'm currently using a Domke F5-XB to carry my M6 + Cron
50 and 35 + bunch of film. I also have an M3 and pretty soon a Bessa L
+ 15mm. I'm going to need another bag if I want to bring another body
along. I really like my second bag, a Domke F-803, butI have an issue
with it: It doesn't have a zipper. So what would be my best choice if
I wanted a bag between the F5-XB and the F-803 with a zipper ?
Thanks !

Hi there,
I have a roll of neopan 400 pushed at 3200. I am planning to develop
this film with Rodinal 1:50. The time for Neopan 400@400 with rodinal
1:50 is 11min. I was thinking of going to 28 minutes for my roll @3200
with agitation every 5 minutes ... What do you guys think ? Anybody
with experience for that combination ?
Thanks !

Why don't you take a look at key.com ?
The M6 doesn't have frame for 40mm btw ..

I don't agree Olivier. Leica should still continue to come up with new product. The M7 and MP are 2 fine products and I'm sure a lot of people would buy them if they were not so damn expensive ! At $1500-$2000 they would sell like hot cake ! People would spend the extra cash (versus a second hand M6).

Make sure your OS version is supported by VueScan (In the release note)

Neat and expensive: $450. I don't think they'll have a great success with this camera.

Minolta scan dual IV setup issue
in The Digital Darkroom: Process, Technique & Printing
Posted
I've just received my Minolta Scan Dual IV and I'm having some issue
installing it. I read a lot before installing anything because I knew
some people had experienced some issues ... Well I'm facing the same
issues ... Here is what I did:
- Install the software
- Reboot
- Connect the USB cable
- Connect the power
- Power on the scanner
- Close the door
- Open up Minolta software
At that point it is suppose to set up the scanner (I guess some
calibration) and then I can insert the tray ... I was able to reach
one time this point. I was able to scan one picture (lousy result btw)
but then I rebooted my computer for some reason and now every time I
try to launch the software, It hangs there. I redo the same step
(power on with door close, launch the software ...) ...
What am I missing ? I'm pretty pissed off about that scanner right now ...
