From Windham, Maine Indiana feels like another planet.

Well I did check his history and the guy was selling trinkets before to get his good rating.

This link to 1Ds in Avon, Indiana. This time the low price item isn't
in Spain or other overseas location. Did anyone check this guy out?

I just ordered the 24mm 1.4 L on Sunday from Adorama. I neglected to
ask whether it comes with the lens pouch and the lens shade. Now I
can e-mail them and find out but it is too late anyway... I thought I
would ask at this forum. The 135mm 2.0 L I bought from them had
everything in the box (shade, pouch caps)...

I have had the 1.8 for over 10 years now. Over the time I tried to come up with reasons to get rid of it only to conclude again and again that it is a great lens. I took a lot of great pictures with the lens and continue to do so. Cheap build but if you treat it right it will last your ten years or more just like mine.

Hmm Konica Autoreflex T1 was circa 1967 so I guess I'll start visiting this forum more often.

My first camera was EOS 650. I have taken over a decade of pictures with it. 99.9% of the time focus was not an issue. In fact I don't really remember when it was an issue.
Last year I started collecting old Konicas with Hexanon Lenses. The yare a pleasure to use and lenses test on the same quality level as Leicas. However ... focusing is a problem :) Of my 24 picture roll i have at least 4 pictures with bad focusing. My fault - true but I swear that in all of those pictures I felt like I had the focus right. Therefore for quick opportunity pictures and action you can't beat AF. If you want to spend some time with landscape pictures then I believe that your medium format would probably do better althought the differences will not be dramatic.

hehe. Well if you really need to know then it's true. I do not want to carry props with me that are big and clumsy. So a small filter would be acceptable. But the other side of the argument is also true. I am interested of natural scenarios where the lighting created nice flat effect which resulted in a great portrait. This way when I walk around taking pictures I could identify those situations and use it to my advantage.
Thanks to everyone for your responses. You gave me some great tips that I will try out.

My backup body is Konica T1 but I have just recently purchased Canon 1N and I absolutely love the way it handles. It is a professional camera with metal housing so durability is covered. It has so many great features as well as a HUGE bright viewfinder. I would recommend it to anyone. My other experience is with EOS 650. I have had it since 1989 and only recently handed it off to my older son. The camera is not built as the 1N yet it has worked flawlessly for me for over 10 years.

Hello,
I like to shoot in natural light and natural settings. That is I
don't want to use any reflective sheets, flashes or similar props.
My wife is difficult to capture with success not to mention with her
final approval of the resulting image. I was wondering whether you
have any tips from the field on which lighting or other arrangements
will result in more flattering image with respect to wrinkles or
other blemishes on the face?
Here is an example. Just yesterday I shot my son at a ice cream
stand at night. Very close next to our picnic table was a large
lighted sign. I used the light of the sign to take a picture of my
son and thought that this light combined with the night would
probably be great for photographing my wife. I thought that it would
hide a lot. I haven't tested it yet but that gave me an idea to post
here and ask for some similar tips from your own experience.
Thanks for any responses.

uh oh, the 1N has a really sexy shutter sound... I'm getting attached... hehe. I put a roll of film in it and snapped 3 pictures so far. The camera has a really good feel and sound and 'everything'... It will be hard to part with it. Maybe it won't sell on ebay - I can tell my wife that I at least tried ;-)

I ended up buying both. The lens appears to be in great working and cosmetic condition. It is the non USM version. I will take some test pictures today. The camera is also in great condition minus some brassing on the bottom. I offered $300 and the man said yes. He also had the manual.
-
I just called him. He got 10d and doesn't have a use for the macro. He even offered to sell the lens without the body. I 'm on my way to check it out.

It is a personal add in the local paper.I might head out there tonight. The thing is that I already have 3 film cameras (650,konicat1,konica t1) and one d30. I have no interest to get another one. Perhaps I will sell it here or on ebay.Rb

I have a chance to buy 100mm 2.8ef for $100 and the 1N for $400. While I know the lens is a good deal I don't know much about the 1N camera.

Hello. I don't have any experience with TS lenses. Could anyone
explain to me what can be achieved with these lenses that can not be
done with regular lenses ?

I think that the sun was very high. The light was very bright throughout the day. I'm not sure which way I was facing with respect to the sun. I shot around 100 on that day. I think that the droplet of water sounds like a plausible explanation.
I found the effect when I was browsing through the pictures and throwing out those that were bad. This one was about to be deleted until I found the 'UFO'. I kept it for the purpose of this post.

If I remember it correctly it was around 9:00AM. We were at altitude of about 8000 feet and also crossing some snow fields. It is possible that I hade a water droplet on the filter but it did not show on any subsequent pictures and I took many...

I have purchased one of the first 650's in Germany in around 1988. I have done some research during that time and remember vaguely that the only differences between 650 and 630 were that the 630 could do 1/2000 while the 650 could only do 1/1000 and that the 630 could do multiple exposures.

We will surely have a DSLR for $500. Actually the we already have it. The D30 is pretty close to $500 right now.
Question really is: Will we want the D30 in the future years. The argument that PC's started hight and then went low does not really hold water. 10 years ago I paid $1600 for 386DX16 computer that would today cost $50 or less. Would I want the 386DX today? No. The $1600 computer still exists today only more advanced.
