I need help previewing and scanning 645 strips in my Nikon Coolscan
4.0.2. I'm using the glass film holder (FH-869G) and both the preview
and scan do not start and stop at the correct spot (where each frame
begins and ends). It's not the user selectable crop frame either.
I have 6x4.5 selected too. I'm scanning at 8500x6288 dpi. The strip
film offset doesn't seem to help too much either. Even when I think I
have the entire frame previewed, when I compare the scan to the film
strip it's missing a small portions of the frame's edges.
I have tried other scanning programs but, other than this, I enjoy
working with Nikon Coolscan.
Any help would sincerely be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Any advice, pointers or specific locations for photography in/around
Badlands, SD in mid-April? Is it too early for flowers? I'll be
shooting for about 15 days. Thanks in advance.

Mr. Doggie,
How are you determining that CS2 is eating up your RAM?

Thank you all! I am leaving tomorrow for about 10-12 days of shooting.

I've been working with an H2 for 2-3 months now and, overall, I'm impressed. However, I only shoot film and I haven't thought 2 seconds about digital.
The H1/H2 is excellent for someone moving out of 35mm and into MF. There has been a lot of negativity about the lenses/body parts being made by Fuji. But the H1/H2 is a fantastic camera that is worlds apart from anything else I've tried. There is nothing negative about Fuji being a partner with Hasselblad.
I considered writing some form of review here but I'm not sure how good it could be since I'm new to MF. My angle would be as a former Canon EOS uaer. And I'd have nothing to contribute about digital.
I hope more here use the H1/H2.

Brad,
1. If you did copyright your photos then you are entitled to collect your legal fees.
2. Consult with a lawyer ASAP -- it won't cost you anything if you copyrighted your photos.
The agency is relying on you giving up. Good luck.

I shoot 100VS and get amazing results with my Nikon Coolscan 9000. I rarely need to adjust the color in PS. Good luck.

I'm headed to the Great Smokey Mountains, staying on the north side
and will be there for about 10 days starting February 15th.
If you know of any great locations for good shooting please let me
know and thanks in advance.

I like the Lowepro gloves and they are pretty good for handling gear because of the rubber on the fabric. Keep my hands warm if the temp is not too low.
Comfortable but tight fitting gloves are best for me while handling gear; check out REI or similar sporting goods stores for useful gloves. You may also have luck at Home Depot or Lowes for work gloves.
Good luck.

Edgar,
I recently made the decision to switch from Canon 35mm film to Hasselblad 645 film. I wanted the larger format and I knew I could one day purchase a digital back.
As already said, film will be around for many years to come, many. Yes, it will be more costly and difficult to process, but not impossible. Shoot film until you are comfortable switching to digital, if ever.
Good luck.

Anastas,
Why didn't you include a pinhole camera in your comparison tests?

And what Simon said, fold the end over first... I don't think about it, my hands just just do it automatically.
Buy the Hasselblad Manual book from Amazon or BN (or wherever).

When you take the film out there should be a tab with adhesive--just stick the tab to the roll and don't open it up. Keep it tight and your shots should be fine.

It was my wishlist camera too.
I took Nikos Peri's advice and wrote Hasselblad Sweden and I am waiting for a reply. I will keep you updated.

No.
Don't listen to this guy.
As most have suggested, hire a lawyer. This is not a legal advice forum.

Remove the photos and get a lawyer, the above post presents a great reason why--second reason: avoid legal battles at all costs. Good luck.

About 2 months ago I made a hefty investment into a Hasselblad H2
plus lenses.
Early on I noticed some quirky behavior and 3 strange problems have
resulted in it going to Hasselblad for service:
1. Sometimes the film does not advance to frame 1 ラ the camera locks
up and the back must be removed to get the film to advance ラ it
happens randomly (I'm not nuts, I did find another post mentioning
the same problem
http://www.hasselbladinfo.com/discus/messages/4/24251.html)
2. Once or twice a day, while shooting, I get a message on the LCD to
remove the battery (yes, to remove it)
3. I reprogrammed the autofocus to another button so the shutter
release just takes exposure and releases the shutter (so I can easily
focus on a part of the frame that's not in the center) - every once
and a while the shutter button reverts back to autofocus
I called several weeks ago and was told it would be looked into. Not
hearing anything after a week I called again and was told the same
thing. Not hearing anything back for another week the second time I
wrote an email expressing my dissatisfaction. I explained I didnメt
think it was appropriate for a new, 60-day-old camera to have such
problems.
Not hearing anything, I called a third time and was told to ship the
camera kit in for service to get it fixed. So I packaged it up,
shipped it off overnight! They received it Wednesday. I called 4PM
Friday just for an update (I thought it may be too soon) and was told
it hadn't been looked at yet because they were "all in training this
week." I was told to call back Tuesday.
I'm trying to get past the frustration and disappointment. This was a
very expensive purchase that I was very excited about. I feel let
down. I did my research on the H series, heard many say Fuji this and
that, but I was convinced by the Hasselblad marketing machine that it
was the best. I was reluctant to post here because so many have
slammed the H series as non-Hasselblad.
What kind of dependability should I expect with the H2? Does anyone
else have an H2 (film or H2D)? I don't want to be stuck with a dud
and my intent was to invest in a system I could expand on in the
years ahead. Anyone have experience with Hasselblad service in NJ?

Gene,
I just went through the same decision process. I switched from Canon 35mm to a Hasselblad H2. I sold my Nikon 5000 and purchased a 9000. I haven't looked back. I have no experience on the matter of doing your own developing.
Good luck. Suggestion: Rent a film 6x6 or 6x4.5 and shoot to see if you like it.

The backs are currently priced at $1,000 each and that's nuts! Where did you hear they are raising it to $2,000?
