I fixed the sky from the old version. Let me know what you think of
this.

This is good. Like the contrast of colors and background. It's a pity though that your lens is so soft, I keep wanting to see more sharpness..

Thank you for your comments.

Thank you Carl, that's a real compliment coming from you. I appreciate it!

Thank you all!!

Piotr, as usual you always come up with something very unusual. Extra points to your wife for being patient and cooperative! :) I like the concept of the image but I'm having trouble seeing some details and that takes away from the pleasure of this image. I know what you're trying to convey (I think?) but it's not grabbing me, even though I love the effect of the golden skin, the lighting.. maybe I would've liked to see her more closeup, maybe less leaves on her head? Not sure.. Sorry I can't be more specific!

Very touching... you've captured love and tenderness. I like the sepia toning, B&W would've also worked. I'm attaching an alternate crop, although I do like yours also. Nice work!!

Armindo, you're such a sweetheart. I am always learning something new thanks to people like you. Thank you.

Armindo, I like the inverted version! That's brilliant. You're right.. maybe that's what made it "feel" a little awkward in the beginning. Thank you for being a new pair of eyes for me! :)

Not at all! It's perfect as is. I too like the bits of green in this.. and the yellows and pinks add a nice variation. Have a look at one of my "rust" shots if you have a chance. Let me know what you think? Not nearly as creative as yours' but thought you might like it anyway. Louise

Carl, your rust photos are really great. You're starting to inspire me :) Colors in this one are superb, and those hanging wire things add the perfect focus of interest. Well done!

This immediately caught my eye. I love it, the textures, the dangling dried stuff above the door but something is not quite right.. I'm not getting enough "depth" in this photo somehow.. I've been staring at it for a while but I can't put my finger on it..
-
I love it! How about cropping part of the right side so your subject is not so centered?
-
Jim, you keep outdoing yourself. Even the apple and the person have this intricate texture worked into their surfaces, holy mackerel! How long did it take you to put this together? The 2nd version btw is definitely better. Only nit is that if you're going to create shadows on the bottom portion of the apple, they should also be on the round metal gear-thingy so that the light is consistent.

Nothing boring about this image. The ancient shape of this lock and ironwork is what gives this photo its appeal. The wood is also a nice touch and texture isn't bad. Only thing I would've liked to see different is the upper half which seems like it could've used a polarizing filter to remove some of the slight glare. This is really very nice!

Steve, I really like this. The reflection of the trees in the dark deep blue water is my favorite part. I would have experimented with the leaves.. perhaps 1 lonely leaf in the bottom left corner? (Like that leaf in the middle?) Not that I mind 3 of them.. just think that 1 might've had a stronger impact since your background is already so rich. Just a thought :)

Lovely composition and nice contrast between the snowy peaks and the autumn colors. The shadows on the bottom portion however weigh the image down a bit too much for me. Perhaps a slightly different exposure (or light?) would bring out a little more detail there.. I also wouldn't mind seeing a little more contrast in the mountains, unless this is what they really look like. Very nice overall.

Martin, have we seen a color version of this recently or am I losing my mind? Looks awfully familiar... I just want to say that this sepia tone evokes a very industrial look to me somehow.. (not a bad thing, just different). I like the repeating peaks..
-
Digitri.. my favorite of your guitar series is by far "High E", but this one isn't bad either. The light is a bit flat though (umm, no pun intended!) and the shadows have this reddish cast that somehow doesn't feel right. High E is definitely a lot sharper to me (pun intended) ;-)
-
Chris, the contrast between that sublime foamy white wave and the richly textured sand is good enough for me. Well done!
-
Although the composition is very nice but nothing especially unusual, I think the fact that the path leads to a differently lit portion of the photo makes it spectacular. Almost an analogy to the expression "there is light at the end of the tunnel", out of the depressing bluish-grey areas, one finds "light" if one perseveres long enough to get to the end of the path.
