A sad day, but he had a good life

Rolfe, thanks. I really was blown away by how good the lens is.

I agree with everything everybody has said. It is kind of a pain, but it does work, and works well. And I knew someone would ask again about the 0-Series and I'd get a chance to repost these:

Did the stuffed animal get mad at you?

The first one; the direction of the hands draws you into the scene and keeps you there. Lovely.

38. Owned Nikons since high school, mostly shooting with an FM-2 and a 28mm. Sold several old Nikons to acquire an 0-Series in 2001, so I don't know if you count me or not. Still got some Nikon stuff for times when I want to look through an actual viewfinder and focus and stuff.

If you don't mind C-41, try the new Kodak B&W CN400. It seems to have tremendous latitude; I accidentally shot a few frames that should have been terribly overexposed and they came out from a machine print looking great. If you're printing it yourself then it may not be as much fun, as it apparently requires very high filtration to print to black and white paper.

The flash on mine crapped out a couple of years ago. I don't use the camera much anymore, but in general it's fine. I used to have an N8008s and sold it and kept the N70 because the N70 is MUCH quieter. Also, it meters with AI/AIS lenses, which is a big plus in my book, although even the smaller ones are heavy enough to feel unbalanced on the camera, which is quite light. The interface is not a problem for me.

Saw the revamped version of the original "Godzilla" yesterday (the original Japanese film, minus Raymond Burr, who had been crudely added in for the American version). The first time Godzilla appears, a scientist shoots him with a Leica screwmount of some kind.
