1. I'll try to post the picture again tomorrow. I think I know what I did wrong. By the way, I should say that when the lens isn't getting hit with bright light, it's very, very good. I have not found guessing the focus to be a big problem, and I actually like the little flip-up viewfinder, because I can keep both eyes open when I take pictures. If I can figure out how to post pictures, I'll put a few more up, as there aren't many 0-Series pictures around. I don't really think there's anything wrong with the camera, but the Anastigmat seems to be a lot more flare-prone than I expected.
2. An added note: the flare always seems to be a rounded bit of reduced

contrast in the middle of the picture, sometimes coming down from

above. I usually shoot Nikons (with lens hoods) and am not used to

dealing with this sort of thing. The 0-Series doesn't have a lenshood,

although probably there's an old one that would fit it. Thanks again

for any respo

3. I am one of the few, the proud, owners of an 0-Series. It's working

fine, it's funky to use, but the lens seems to flare like nobody's

business. I have scanned a shot I rcently took at Gettysburg, of two

mock Union soldiers. The sun was high in the sky but actually was a

bit behind me; and I still got flare! It seems that this lens is

incredibly flare prone in any bright light. If the sun is low in the

sky and behind me, no problem. Otherwise, it's flare city. Or is this

not flare, and something else? Some kind of shutter problem? I'd like

to get some reaction here before I do anything else. Thanks. If I can

figure out how to post the picture<div></div>

4. The built-in flash on my N70, which I believe is out of warranty, has

ceased to function. The flash emits a tiny whine when I flip it up,

but doesn't fire. The battery indicator shows that the batteries are

fine, but I'm wondering if maybe they've fallen low enough not to

power the flash, but to power everything else (everything else seems

to work fine). I don't really want to shell out for new batteries just

to test this theory. Has anyone else had trouble with the N70's

built-in flash? It's pretty expensive to fix, probably about $150 or

so. Thanks.

5. They may not be available for less than $1,000 any more, or at all. B&H has a note saying they are out; Adorama, which advertised them at $899.00, is out; Tamarkin, which advertised them at $1,199.00, is out; Camera Connection had one, for $1,400, but it may be gone now. They may have finally sold out. Does anyone know where a final stash may be located?
