  1. We've just begun spinning and have yet to light-up, but our friend

here is really amazing. Hope you enjoy this photo. If any of you

out there have experience photogarphing fire play, or even if you

don't but have some ideas for cool ways to photograph bright trail

    objects in dark environments.

Basically the trick I found is long exposure with auto fill flash,

almost always gets some of the subject frozen but still leaves light

trails. Maybe you have a better way.

    Thanks for any constructive feedback.

    Cheers!

  2. I would much appreciate constructive feedback on this image. I know there's a little camera shake, so no need to comment on that.

Composition Critique, Color Usage/Palette Critique, Light and Shadow, proportion. things like that.

Of course, I also welcome the I hate it's and I love it's, just tell me why, even if it's just how it strikes you.

I had a title for it, but didn't want to taint the image with imageary. If you have a title... share :)

    The Missing

I think the horizon works well here, even though it's close to but not

centered, it's still almost dividing the image in half. Any ideas as

    to why this works? Thanks.

Thanks Brian... it's interesting tho.. the depending on the gamma of your monitor, you will see or not see the hair as being prominent. Also... it wouldn't look as though the "turning to stone" effect was happening if the hair was gray too... but..... thanks for the comment. :D

Interesting comment about the "tilted"... I can see that her eyes aren't level....... but why is that improper? To me it actually adds a little bit of motion and interest. Not so boring. I can't see anything technically wrong with this one. Nice work. I like the crop a lot.

Only showing part of me in the picture... it's all I wanted to show... leaves something to the imagination, or maybe it's that I'm hiding, but still want to be seen. Let me know what you think. Thanks

POW?? does that mean picked to be one of the best pictures? or just something to talk about for the week. I was supprised actually that this was shot with IR. There's nothing special about the image that would make me think... oooh etherial. It just looks like grainy slightly to heavily overexposed high speed film. Not a horrible picture, but not a horribly interesting shot...

    doll heads

This is kinda creepy. It might just be me and doll heads, but reminds me of french scarry movies :). The only thing I might change, is the verticle along the right edge. It's not quite verticle, and it makes the whole picture seem like it's bulging toward the right. However... if your intent is to disturb, and keep the viewer off ballance and uncomfortable... then it works briliantly. Really wonderful tones in this one. Nice shot!
  4. that's a whole lot of DOF. Composite? or Real? either way, it's pretty nice. normally I'd say face dead center of the composition is a bit static, but I think the gaze is what leads us out from the center toward the corner, and then from there... checking out each corner, so we consume the whole image.
