  1. I did not mean this to start discord, just thought it was weird realizing I am where I was looking for and did not have a clue until today. John you are correct, the forums are what the participants make it. As the United Staters say, deal with it, get over it and move on...😉
  2. ¡Wow! Years ago when involved in large and medium format, I signed up for a photo forum that was very active with many great photograhers and a wealth of information. Once I got involved in the digital world years later, I searched for it but could not find it(did not remember the name, I thought). So decided to join here and try it out. To my surprise I found it, the name Greenspun triggered the relation, THIS is it...... ¡Wow, unrecognizable! Wonder if my data still remains???? Any way nice to be here again.
  3. Greetings Edwin, PhotoScape is a stand alone software, free version has most of what you need. AAs I said for 600 pesos($30 us) the pro version gives you a couple of more nice to have functions. It has served my purpose well. There were three images stacked, my first try at this. And yes I use a focus rail, remote wireless trigger and lots of patience. ¿In camera focus stepping? not familiar with this. I am an old film and chemical type, I can barely work my phone.....
  4. Thank you. Playing with my new canon D6 MKII, sigma 105mm macro. Editor PhotoScapeX Pro (Cheap 600 pesos) no subscriptions... next try extension tubes on a macro lense never tried this before.
  5. My first try at photo stacking...
  6. Greetings heath, 1- good and cheap... no 2- shooting in auto for macro will not give you results you expect. 3- need to accomplish "shortly"... takes time and practice, Patience and extreme attention to detail. I suggest you start with a set of extension tubes a good tripod and good lighting and start shooting. Don't know how serious you want to get (sounds like you have a quick project coming up) Photography, Quick, Cheap and Macro don't go together. Regards

  8. Thank you all for the replies. I guess what I use is more than sufficient for my needs, not commercial nor great amounts of images to process. It is not an issue of cost, just does it do what I need to do, coming from the film era the effort is to get it right in the camera. So far PhotoScape x free version has done the job. Just wanted to know if I was missing something. I do want to try photo stacking for my photomacrography. Again thank you for your insights on this subject.
  9. Greetings, Have been looking at different editors and for the most part appear they need to be hooked up to internet. Now I use Photoscape x - canon digitalphoto (came with camera) both stand alone programs. Just curious to see what is ¿popular? and get a better idea of options before purchasing. I am a recovering film & chemical dependent type so this is new to me. Be gentle. Thank you
  10. I´m so confused... all the research and a call to Adorama state 6D will work with EF lenses, asked about the Sigma, same will work. Did read somewhere the R with adaptor does not play well with third party EF lenses like my Sigma 105mm macro. I remain skeptical on buying refurbished or used cameras... Guess I'll try the 6D and try it, return if not satisfied. Will post results, might be useful for some. Thank you all for your input and suggestions
  11. Thank you all for your input. The lenses I have all but one appear to be EF (only a red dot on mount) and marked as EF. The Canon EOS 6D Series of cameras can be used with Canon EF Series lenses. NOTE: They cannot be used with EF-M, EF-S or RF Series lenses. https://canoncanada.custhelp.com › answer_view › a_id ??????????????????? If those work with the 6D it would be good otherwise opt for the t8i.??? My camera is gettig old and would like the higher resolution, and full screen, better focus... the little things. I know the camera does not make the photographer, just easier and new toys, technology to explore... or maybe this old guy should get a PS. For years had from 8x10 to 110 cameras, two bay darkroom and all the chemical thingy and loved it... but the times are a changing, I still have problems using my phone... as you can see this is a bit confusing for me. I appreciate all your input. Thank You
  12. Agree the improvements are towards the video/bloggin that I absolutely will not use... and so seems to be the price. Narrowed down to T8i, 6D or the 90D. Any input on these ? my xms gift:) or any other thank you
  13. Greetings and salutations all, Would like your opinions on upgrade camera... I have T5i all Canon ef lenses and would like to keep. Video is not important to me main use photography street/macro. I have thought of a 6d mkII or the R (but diff lense or w/ adaptor). Thank you all in advance
  14. Maybe something along these form.
  15. Greetings Pavel, in that case more of radial blur to background to accentuate movement. As it is both appear as static objects.
