I do feel like a tighter crop is necessary for optimum appreciation.
I love the effect the water allows our subjects in photographs. I don't get a feel of the velvet painting when I look at this photo. Quite the opposite. I was thinking how texture might bring it out more in depth.
Lovely photograph. Thank you for sharing.

I totally agree with your assessment of the use of the Sony Digital for a shot such as the one I attempted. However, I was so pleased to see a photo as good as this out of such a camera that I felt it was worthy of uploading. There may be others out there who've accomplished more with their camera of the same model. It is those folks I would most like to hear from. I'm sure I'll learn techniques from their personal experience with this camera. At least, I hope I will learn from them.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate your feedback and your logic is sound.
Best regards,

I really like the abstract quality of this photo. The dry frozen bent grass has a life of its' own in this photo.

Thanks Kim! I kinda jumped the date, didn't I. :-) I made the correction. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Hope your holidays were wonderful!

Typical kitty shot during the holidays.

I agree with using mats that don't take away from the sujbect. Most of my prints are not framed in this manner. This is an early version which I chose to keep posted. I see you've made this same mistake in using poorly designed mats in some of your shots as well.
It's all about the journey, Jerry. Thanks for commenting. I will visit your work again later.
Regards.

The early morning light is great and the sunlight at this angle is perfect for the smoke which is billowing into the atmosphere. It creates the feeling of a fire.
Very interesting photo. I like how it turned out.

This is so similar to some of my own work. I really like the tones you chose and the feeling of old b&w this piece projects to me.
Very nicely done. :-)

Very well executed!

Love the expanse you were able to allow us to view. This is worth being displayed for all to appreciate. Especially the younger people who haven't the good fortune of being exposed to such natural beauty within our own planets atmosphere.

I think this is very elegant. I agree with the comment on cropping up a little closer to the reflection but not too close. Cropping a little more off the sides for a more elongated look would work nicely as well for framing and hanging purposes.

Very well done on subject and sense of motion! Love the color. Rainy, cloudy days really help with this aspect.

Very good action shot! The lighting could have been better but there's not much you could do about that point. Great job!

Great use of lines! I most appreciate when someone has the fortunate eye to see something that is right in front of us.
Good job!

Good angle and great sharpness!

This one made me laugh out loud.
Very good use of duck humor! I love it!

This has an aged feel to it, for me. I like this effect.
Well done!
