Walking in Union Station in Kansas City. People loved watching the
bride and groom.

Thanks in advance for any comments. The bride's brother caught me!

Thanks in advance for any comments.

As I was taking the picture, the woman in back said to the subject,
"The camera loves you." I hope I did her justice. Ideas and
suggestions, including crops, are welcome.

Minu - I think I might like this, but it is very small on my screen. Is there a way you can post a larger version? It looks as though it has potential...

Before I saw Ed's comment above, my second thought was that the stray hairs are distracting. My first thought is that this is a very nice detail portrait. Good use of strong, directional light; black-and-white serves you well here. Very pleasing photo.

Classic street photo. The dog in the box is a nice touch. Doesn't look that different in some ways from what one might see today, but the cars in the background are a sure clue. Nice job!

I agree with Marco on the tones - they're nice. I do with the depth of field was a bit shallower, but sometimes on the street you don't have much choice...

Hi Julie - If you are truly only just beginning, then you've started nicely. Your use of color here is quite effective. I like the fact that you used a shallow depth-of-field, and the angle of the daisy is pleasing.
Minor pick - I wish the very tip of the bottle had been included in the frame. It's a minor omission, but it would help complete the photo. However, I do like the way the daisy explodes out of the top and right side of the frame. I guess it's that the bottle helps to ground the composition and part of it is missing.
In any case, you've done a nice job here. And I don't usually even click on flower pics!

Sorry. It figures our news had it wrong. I heard that it was to protest the Iraq war. I like the truth even more. Thanks for letting me know!

This is also a strong photo! The focus of his stare is intense. It is as if he isn't even aware of another person at his shoulder. Thanks for sharing this folder with us.

Though it is hard to tell what is happening in this photo without the rest of the story, it may be my favorite in your folder. After all, this was a solitary act. There may have been others in attendence, but he was the only one actually going through the ordeal. Nice way of capturing the lone act.

I saw this guy on the news here in the USA the other day. Very interesting way to protest the war in Iraq. It's nice to know that someone on photo.net was there to document it. Thank you for sharing!

I like this photo. I might like it more if it was in black & white. With the snow it gives one a sense of just how cold it was.

In general, I like the photo. I must be honest though and say that I liked the vignetting more on the thumbnail than I did when I clicked it and saw the larger photo. I think the effect works better on the thumbnail as it makes one feel as though they are peeking into something and seeing a beautiful scene. On the larger photo it seems more of an error.
The scene is very nice. I do wish the foreground grass were not in shadow, but there may have not been anything you could do.
Thanks for sharing!

Great photo! I love the detail in the clouds and the implied land below. Very nice capture of the rays too. I'd be proud to have this in a portfolio...

I like the work you've done on this. The gothic glow is noticable if one looks toward the upper left corner, but is well served here. Nice composition and saturated colors. Feels like a nice, cool, somewhat damp fall day...

This would be a classic photo to use in teaching young photographers how a person or item placed in a picture for scale is so important for some shots. As so many others have stated, the spot of red with the person and vehicle for scale is most impressive. Very nicely spotted and accomplished!

Great shot! As one viewer noted, too bad it's not a more dramatic sky, but this photo really captures the feel of this part of the world. Definitely not a place for brakes to fail!! Very nice capture...

I really like this photo a lot! Great interaction between the two gannets. This is an interesting study of the two specific birds within the much larger, more chaotic community. I wish somehow that the perspective might have been shifted to the left a bit so we had the complete wing/tail feathers of the bird on the left and we could see more of the bird on the right, but it's not a big deal. In any case, this is a great photo!
-
This is my favorite from the series. I do wish the rear tire and complete wing was present, but it doesn't detract much from the photo. There is a real sense of motion and speed here which I like a lot. I read about this event on Regent Street and I sure would love to have been there. It's nice to see photos from the event. Nice job!
