Absolutely superb interpretation - beautiful. I like that you went with a younger Madonna and child (more in keeping with what I learned in Catholic school:-). Beautiful treatment. Obvious references to a Renaissance aesthetic without pandering or overdoing it - and modern without being distracting. Formally strongly composed.
Perfect.

I like this image - unconventional pose. Love the hair and eyes. Something 20's and silent film about it (broad expressiveness) - except in color.
-
I like the tight framing - it draws one's attention to the sensuous lips. It would be nice to have a catchlight in her right eye (it looks darker than her left eye).

This image jumps out at me - the dreaminess, the tones, the tension and fun. Very cool treatment and composition.

Hey Marla - this was my favorite orchid I shot in this phase of my life. The shots were done on 4x5 slide film - somewhere around here (?) I have a 40" x 50" Fujicolor print off a Lightjet printer of this image. The detail is intense.
The reason I like this best is the graceful lines of the stems supporting the flowers - the one blooming and swooping the other a more vertical graceful curve. I spent hours in an orchid store over a few weeks looking at the flowers as they came in and matching them to pots (this one chosen to emphasize the vertical composition and echo the graceful curves).
I loved the color and shape of the leaves also.
Come to think of it - I can use that print for something - I wonder where I put it?

The Hello Kitty tea pot throws it over the top! Love it.

Nicely done - and lit - didn't look at the details - do you describe how you lit the scene?

Somewhere between Victorian innocence and Raphaelistic angelicism. The flash of the peacock's feather against the skin pale is beautiful.

Liked the intersecting lines - best framing I could achieve. Any suggestions?

Such a cutie.

Yes - it has an Art Deco look to it. Well executed. Love the body shape.

Playing with three lights (red gel'ed spot, blue gel'ed gridded 11" reflector backlight, and 11"
reflector fill). Did about 30 shots looking for interesting water patterns.

I agree - a very interesting treatment to a strong composition. Some elements in it are enigmatic to me.

A second poster for the flute playing student's recital. 60's minidress and headband to break
out of "performing gown" convention.

I had a homework assignment to shoot a "magazine cover" - I was shooting a woman to do
some posters for her recital so I shot images for my homework. I had fun coming up with the
article titles. And the overall approach of flute as sword.
-
It is for an actual recital (thanks for poking around folder!)
I like this one also. It was a 60's style minidress I had around - and I wanted to break the formality of the gown she would normally wear.
She has copies of each of the posters - so she is going with four versions.
