I don't think you can do it with this camera. My F100 has the ten pin conection and an optional wireless control is available from Nikon
-
I believe you are referring to the bokeh. I swear by my Nikon 80 - 200 AFS f/2.8. It's never let me down and the autofocus is amazing.
-
You can use teh SB 80. I use it with my S2. Not sure about the SB 800 though. I also use an old Metz CT45 with my Fuji as well. No problems at all.
-
The more information you have the better the print. Why would you want to cut down?
-
Their is an issue as to whether or not it's a true 12mp camera as Fuji claims. Only things I like about the S3 is that it's covered in rubber. Plus, the software looks easier to use. I'm an S2 owner.

Well, I had a slow 70 - 300 mm zoom and sold it because of all the shots I missed. I spent the money for an 80 - 200 f/2.8 AFS and never looked back. Lens hunting is no longer a problem for me.
-
IF anything, send it back to Fuji and no one else. I went through hell and high water. Look through the archives ans see whatI wrote.

I'd get teh wide angle sion in case yu want to use that lens on a film camera.

That's a three hundred dollar repair if it's out of warranty. The same thing happened on mine. Send it back to Fuji. Any one else wh attempts to fix this camera wil not do it correctly. I found out the hard way.

Adorama on W18th Street and Focus Camera in Brooklyn are my choices. Watch out for some of these dealers that ahve prices too good to be true. Adorama, Focus and B&H will have the best possible prices around.
-
Yeah, I have the hyper activity software too. I set the camera and nothing happened. Mine was busted. Thank God for the extended warranty.
-
Keep in mind that the Fuji cameras are the most expensive to repair. If I had to do it all over again, I proabably would have gone Nikon

I own an S2. If I had to do it all over again, I'd go with a Nikon. Why is Fuji charging so much for this camera?

Contax seems to be going. Any talk of anyone picking up the brand?
-
I don't consoider a plastic lens a Zeiss.

Calumet and Alkit are two soteroes available when B&H and Adorama are closed. I'm more of am Adorama fan myself. Focus Camera in Brooklyn is open too. I purchased my S2 and my F100 there. For some reason, they do not take those two weeks off.

Fuji replaced a whole bunch of sensors recently for free. They also replaced the main board on my S2 after an "authorized" repair rep screwed it up. I'm not as crazy about the S2 or digital as I used to be. But I will give Fuji credit for helping me out and not charging me. The baord would have been $600 bucks. Did you know that a Fuji S2 and S3 cost more to repair than the Nikon D100? About twice the price.

Well, think about this for a second. You shoot in A mode and the camera is selecting the Shutter speed 'casue you're selecting the Aperture, correct? So it's doing it's job! It's probably not going to 125 'cause that was the way it was programed for the EV that camera is sensing. Remeber back in the old days when a high syncbcg soeed was 1/60? My F100 takes better photos 'casue it goes all the way to 1 / 250. Take that camera outside and see if it goes to 125. Keep shooting in M mode when you use a flash as your main light to light your subject. You'll have more control than any other mode on the camera.

Well, this is what happened. I put my SB onto the Fuji and then turned both units on. The ISO was set to 100 and the lens was a Sigma 105 f/2.8. I put the Fuji into P mode and then turned the thumbwheel that activates VP. Although P* appeared on the LCD, the only thing that changed the Shutter speed and Aperture was the amount of ambient light available. Once I turned the flash off, the P* varied the different EV's.
I then turned the flash off and put it on my Nion F100. The same exact things happened as on my Fuji S2. Ambient light was the determining factor as well. I guess the TTL Flash control overrides the P* mode. My advice to you is this............take a look in the owners manual. I would but I'm pressed for time. Or give Fuji or Nikon a call and talk to them. I say Nikon because as you know, that's what its guts are made of. I do know in my F100 manual, there is something regarding the correlation of ISO, flash and P mode. Again, as I said before, I'm an A mode shooter most of the time. And if it's not A mode, I shoot M with the flash being in TTL. Never had any problems. What kills me about the S2 is that I can't use the lens ring to set Aperture like I can my F100. I'm real fast with that Nikon. I hope this all helps you my friend. Why they do it like this? I don't know.

Every Hassy I ever had jammed on me.
-
I am going to grab my S2 in a moment asn see what happens. I'll let you know. Maybe the camera needs a trip to Ediaon? I hope not for your sake.
-
I don't think you'll want to leave thge Hassy at home. The best prints I've ever seen were made with a MF camera and chrome. You can't beat it.

I just went through hell and high water with exactly what you are talking about. The only hard drive you will be able to shoot directly to is one that's located inside a computer. Hooking up anm external hard drive is not possible.
The software was telling me that the camera was not recognized through the firewire. Plus, I couoldn't download throught the firewire either. If you have both of these problems, then you might need a new main board along with another cable. That's what straightened out my situation. If your not under warranty, it's going to cost about $600 to fix this problem through Fuji. I would not advise you to bring the camera to anyone else for repair. I did and found out that no one, except for Fuji, really knows what they are doing with this camera. So save yourself time and hardship and go directly to them. One other thing.............do you have anohter computer to install the software in? If so, try that and see what happens. It might be the computer as well. And...........keep in mindthat Fuji si not kidding when they say you need minimum of 256mb of RAM for it all to work correctly. I upgraded to 648 just to play it safe.
Metz 60CT4 and D2x - any TTL at all?
