I second all of Michael's comments, very well done. My only nitpick would be the top of her shoulder appears a bit hot, more skin detail in that area would draw my attention to it less.

Nicely done-fun shot. I apologize if this comes across as really nit-picky, but there is a tiny portion of his shirt showing near his inner right arm that, once I noticed it, became a real distraction. I would recommend cloning that out.

Striking portrait. On my monitor the left side of her face is little hot, but it's offset nicely by the sharp detail of her eye...I think it works.

Nice spontaneous shot. For comparison I applied some quick levels/curves adjustments revealing the beautiful color tones in her skin and hair.

This is my favorite in the series. I really like the crisp facial detail and warm colors. If you're open to any editing suggestions...I would recommend cloning out the branch in the lower left corner. Best wishes, Mark

Some edits I would suggest. Crop a bit off the right to throw the flower off center, clone out the twigs on the left and apply levels/curves to pop the color. Attached is a quick attempt, I also applied noise reduction.

Nice light and expression! I would suggest cropping the left side slightly and burning in the bright (out of focus area) immediately to the side of his left ear. Perhaps apply a bit more sharpening to make that left eye pop.

    Perfect!

I like what you are attempting to capture here, but the image is held back in a few key areas. The first being the horizon...granted it could in reality be sloped, but the light poles off in the distance are clearly slanted. I would suggest rotating and cropping the image. Second, the lighting contrast is too great and has blown out all of the sky detail to save the shadows...shooting at a different time of day would improve the situation greatly. Third, I see a lot of purple fringing in the high contrast separations of the tree branches and sky...there are a number of software solutions to remove this, but again, shooting at a different time of day would likely eliminate the problem entirely. That aside, there's a nice "S" curve to the flowing water to move my eye through the composition, textures and shimmering reflections. Best wishes, Mark

    All in the eye!

Compared to the typical hummingbird posts the vantage point of this image is both interesting and original. Subject is indeed centered, but I don't find it at all detracting. Lighting/brightness on my monitor seems a bit flat; IMO it could be punched up a bit. Overall though - Great Job!
  1. What a fantastic folder, Leo! Both the color and B+W versions are appealing; the color having a painterly look and the B+W that of a fine sketch drawing...for me it's really a toss up. Best wishes.

Great abstract of what is obviously already an interesting statue; a black and white version might be an option to explore. Best wishes.
  2. IMO some go overboard with blurring and skin smoothing to the point it no longer looks like a person, but but more like a wax work figure...it just doesn't appeal to me personally.

I like what you've done here because it really does look like controlled DOF. Her eyes and eyebrows are sharp; and cheeks have texture...I expect to see skin texture and you've provided it.
