1. I checked Mypublisher - says they are closing the business May 8 (my Birthday). Guess we can't get those much longer.
 2. Would like to know more about these. Do they take real prints? Or, are they digital books? That's all I see at Shutterfly, which I use.
 3. Nice! Mind doesn't have the waist level finder. What's with the memory card? Is this a digital version?
 4. Display looks good to me. My Dad used to make pretty nice 8 X 10's from his Minox. He used Adox 25 film in Microdol-X and the grain was fine. He also used Adox 10, Minox on a tripod, and they looked as good as 35mm work. Of course, kind of negated the reason to carry a Minox, but he had fun.
 5.
It sounds like a driving license number to me. Some people engrave such things on cameras in the hope they will be returned if lost or stolen. I'd go out and enjoy the new (to you) camera.

 6.
I had thought about finding a DSC just to carry when I want quick photos for the web. After reading the above, I'm glad I hadn't found one yet. I too, wonder why Minox would let such a seeming piece of junk out on the market. Thanks to all of you from keeping me from making a big mistake.

 7.
I don't use the Minox tank as it gets chemicals on the felt light traps. Cassettes that I have developed in the Minox tanks seem to have light leaks later. I find my Honeywell SS Minox reel very easy to load, and the casettes don't get in the chemicals.

 8.
I didn't look up my book, but it seems Cooper recommends advancing three frames before removing the cassette. Then, advance three more frames when it it replaced in the camera. Doing this, the cassette should be kept out of bright light when it's out of the camera, as you're depending on the light seals only.
That's why I carry two Minox's, one with color and the other with B&W, or with two film speeds. Works for me.

 9.
Jimmy Li has some good stuff. I recently bought some Minox Film Wallets from him. Made pretty much like the originals and work great. I would recommend them for storing Minox negatives.

 10.
I understand the Jimmy Li film slitter is really good. Don't know the price, but I'm sure it's not cheap. I recently bought some Minox Film Wallets from jimmy Li, They are great, and he is great to deal with, and very prompt.
I have the Goat Hill Joe McGloin slitter and it works fine. Haven't used it a lot, but haven't had to change the razor blades yet either. Joe is a pleasure to work with also.

 11.
I wouldn't think pre-soak would affect grain. Sometimes you need a little more developing time if you have pre-soaked, as the developer is slightly more diluted at first. Your 9 minutes is the recommended time in D-76, and you don't comment on density, so I assume it's OK. Did you develop previous MinoPan in D-76? I use a finer grain developer for my Minox, used to be Microdol-X, which I'm running out of. I now use Ilford Microphen at 1:1 You co with, I think, good results.
Another thought would be temperature changes during processing. Could be some reticulation in addition to grain. You could also try the D-76 at 1:1 or 1:3, which may give less grain. Let us know.

 12.
I know this thread is nearly a year old, but I just found it. Wow! Some really great Minox photos. I need to work harder on mine.

 13.
The Kodak Ektramax has a f1.9 lens, if you want to include that. I've had pretty good results using old ISO400 film.

 14.
Got my shipment from Blue Moon Friday the 13th! Haven't tried it yet, but it looks just like previous minox products.

 15.
Got my order yesterday. Haven't shot any yet, but looking forward to a trip next weekend. I got Delta 100 for B&W and Ektar 100 for color. I'll be processing the B&W myself.

 16.
Well, here it is January 9, and the Minox site still says available January 2015. I don't think this is a high priority with them.
