in the past couple days i have seen a plethora of nudes that were close-ups of female

genitalia. i hope this approach to the male figure is not censored. this shot is from my

"tent studio," where the light is always changing.

  1. it's a cool technique and has a high "wow" factor. imo, the quest of such work would be in using the technique to make lines that were highly expressive or beautiful or meaningful or interesting. imo, this image isn't pushing the art hard enough. luckily, in the digital age one can experiment with edgey exposures and have instant (and free) feedback. may i ask what you used as light sources here? filters on various sized flashlights are always good -- you may wish to also experiment with varying degrees of a flash (perhaps with color filter) to increase ambiant exposure.

i know exactly where to look. actually that brings up an interesting point. as photographers we learn how to construct and compose an image so that the eye is directed where we wish. generally, too much clutter destroys that flow. but it seems, by this example, that the nude is so powerful a subject that even in a room of clutter the eye behaves in a most predictable way. yes, i really like that contemporary chest of drawers by the window.

noticing that you had given a few of my images high marks i thought i should check you out. i see you like rocks, too. that moon shot is really cool. it's so present. the shot here i like for the random geometry. you might also have likd my fossil bed shots. i shot about 3,000 images this summer at a large fossil bed. the various shapes were wonderful. my artsy friends liked the shots, but they got very low marks on photo.net. too gray, i suppose.

vote for your favorite tat. and add a comment about the image, if you wish. btw, some

people think the figure on the left is male. not so.

i put this in the street category, even though it was a casual unrehearsed pose in a park. i

did not put this in the "nudes" category because it's not a nude by contemporary american

standards, nor does it show any "private parts."
