this is quite interesting. beautiful tonality.
presentationwise, i do find the mat proportions and titles a bit distracting to the image. but that's easy enough to fix.

this is really wonderful. i'm not sure what your image source was, but i'd love to know. i have a suspicion it may be macro?

very nice. i like the effect. 3Dish. i do agree with the other comment about the crop. i'd turn it 90 degrees to the right and crop it square?

there's something happening here and in your other work that is quite good and interesting.

Michael, First off, I like the direction you are going. There's good creative energy in your work and often you have some first rate images. I am not sure why you tosssed this one into critique. As a stand alone image its focus appears soft and it is certainly flat on the contrast. Is this perhaps an early attempt at printing? If so, say so, so that people can give you feedback regarding intent.

this is very nice. surreal. only one thing i question: do you intend the lean to the subject's left?

wow. what a wild and wonderful color bouquet you have captured. is this native to france? reminds me of the american buckeye. i suppose the peacock is in the nymphalidae family?

interesting. very interesting. i like interesting.
did you know that michelangelo was panned for forsaking grace and beauty. they said he was too much about process.

sorry. not an F3, that was a defaulty setting. the camera was a practica. yes, it's the 1950s, berlin.

this was scanned from an kodak e100sw transparency, so there is no grain from that process. perhaps you are seeing a compression artifact. of course the shot is very sharp and you may be seeing the powdered sugar as grain?

very interesting. what's the story behind the object and the place?

this work rocks.

very nice. i like it.

it's not full of color and contrast and so it gets poor ratings on photo.net. here, the herd rules. but we all know that the art world is full of stories of how the masses often just don't get it. i'm not one into critiquing a photo by saying that it needs to be cropped a certain way or dodged another. but i can say that there is much more impact with this imag as it gets larger. the rain is really interesting. often times, the internet favors images that read better small. i've seen many thumbnails that were very hot looking, but when i saw the art in person it was weak. i think with this image that i would find the opposite.

ominous. i like it.

i like the borderline between a figurative and abstract work.

this is hot. erotic, sexual, raw.
