There is a lot of great color in this, and all the great lighting on the boats really adds interest to this image. Have you considered perhaps cropping out some of the sky and enough of the water to have some of the reflected light bleed off of the bottom of the image? I think doing that would really tighten up the image and make it pop.

While the subject of this image maybe isn't the most interesting thing in the world, I was drawn to this image by all of the various tones created by the light on the undersides of the stairs. When looking for black and white photographs, I tend to look for interesting shapes and patterns where the light has a chance to ebb and flow. I regret that I didn't pull out the 12-24mm to play a little more with this stair.

Love the model's pose.
I would agree the white thing in the mirror is distracting - once you notice it. I will have to say that my eye was not naturally drawn to that portion of the image until someone pointed it out (though I'm sure I would have noticed it on longer inspection over time).
All in all, a very enjoyable image and one that is going into my favorites. Great job. -
Amazing shot. The lighting, composition, rain sheeting off of the awning, it's all incredibly well done.
Congrats on a beautiful image!

A very nice perspective. Good depth of field, and I really like the composition. This is one of those images that makes you stop and think, and that allows you to draw up your own story, a form of viewer interaction that creates a very interesting photograph. The use of light is also excellent, with very good exposure.
Nice capture!

Thank you Nez! I appreciate your taking the time to stop by and comment.

Interesting silhouette. It's actually funny, until I saw the feet I thought the little girl was facing away from the camera.

@Rina - that's what makes photography so great. An image can mean so many things to so many people - and everyone always is drawn to many different aspects of the same image. Keep up the great work. :)

I feel that the depth of field may have been just a hair too narrow on this one. The crispness that you are getting from the play of light across the muscles seems a little wasted since there seems to be so little in focus to display that light.
A great start though, thank you for sharing the image!

I think this might work a little better in abstract or fine art - I'm not sure it's really "travel". :)
That said, very interesting effect on the water/sky. I'm a little distracted by the almost normal appearance of the water in between the rails about halfway down the pier/off the end of the pier. The title works well for me, though.
Very interesting image, a lot of fun to look at.

I'm not really sure I like the use of light/the sun in this image. I'm not sure I like the washed out colors and boosted shadows. The over exposed upper left of the image drew my eye immediately when I started looking at the image.
Good start, I think it was just the wrong time of day for this angle. Thanks for posting!

I really liked the overall effect, but got distracted by the way the grass at the bottom plays with the yellow "frame". Perhaps it lost something in the reduction?

Very busy photo - I almost didn't see the vendor.
Thanks for sharing. :)

I'm not sure I would have known what this was without the title.
I feel that something is missing from the image, I just can't put my finger on it.

Very interesting lighting and textures. My eye was a little distracted by the shadows from the cardboard box, but I don't have a suggestion as to how that could be better that wouldn't ruin the overall effect.
Nice image overall!

I especially like the contrasting colors between the blue lights and the primary lighting. The colors in the umbrella do a wonderful job of extending that theme.
One place I think this image could improve is that the image doesn't seem to be vertical. My eye is immediately drawn to the tower, but it is listing to the right.
Overall, great image! I've love to see it with the tower straightened out.

I should have been more clear, the generators creating that conflict is exactly why I liked this image. In fact, I thought they should be emphasized a little more by cropping some of the grass at the bottom of the frame. :)

I'm a little torn on this image. I love the colors in the sky, and also really like the texture and interest that the pebbles on the beach in the foreground add. At the same time, the extra space that both of these elements add seems to swallow up the excellent shapes and architecture on the pier.
There is something here, I'm just struggling to figure out what, in my opinion, would really put this image over the top.
