Exposure was 30 seconds at f16 with a Pentax AF500 off-camera fill flash. Gitzo 1325/Acratech ball head. Adjusted Levels, Curves, Color, and USM in Photoshop CS in Ektaspace.

Just teasing! I really must visit your portfolio more often. I love the contrast between the blue and white here. Simply lovely although I do find the light a minor distraction!

Hi Dave, thanks. The "light" is actually the rising moon. I shot this with my 35mm Fisheye lens so it turned out looking much smaller than it actually was. The small aperture gave it the rays. It would have been nice to have more detail in the moon, but it is too blown-out for that. I had to settle for either detail in the snow or the moon, and you see who won the argument. Still, personally, I like the way this one turned out. Thanks again for the visit (and your ideas in the Feedback Forum!). Regards.

Choosing for the details in the snow was the right, and natural, choice here.... I love the strong composition and delicate blue colors especially....
