Avocets in flight - (Recurvirostra avosetta) - I photographed this coming and going of avocets in flight, in a pose that highlights the elegant black and white color of the back plumage. Nikon D850, Sigma supertele 300-800mm, f / 5.6, 1/4000 sec, ISO 100. Thanks for your comments

Fantastic photo, Giangiorgio! This flock of avocets has created an incredibly beautiful pattern against the backdrop of the coastal landscape! Probably especially for you! Delight! Sincerely, Tatiana

Hi Giangiorgio,

I have never seen so many avocets together; they fly in two directions and you have captured it very well! I like the fact the background is still clearly recognizable and the birds are all in focus. Kind regards, Vincent

Vincent, thank you very much for your appreciated comment. This year the avocets are back more than usual, fortunately, they flew on the same plane and were well lit and almost all in focus, I hope to do some close-ups too , (the exif data on the site belong to an old photo of which I used the frame, the real data are those present in my first comment) ciao Giangiorgio

Grazie mille Laurent for your beautiful appreciated comment. The flight of these avocets is perfectly synchronized in all their evolutions, they move all in unison , a great advantage from the aesthetic point of view , ciao Giangiorgio

Many thanks TmJ for your visit and appreciated comment. in fact, the two flocks of avocets have crossed on the same perpendicular so that they all seem to be in focus , ciao Giangiorgio

I love how the two groups are flying opposite directions from each other. You framed it very well, showing it like opposite lanes of a superhighway. Superb composition!
