Giangiorgio Crisponi 475 Posted August 15, 2020 Landing flamingos - ( Phoenicopterus roseus) - I photographed these two flamingos landing at dawn. The photo was taken from a hill overlooking the Cagliari lagoon. The shooting distance is about 1Km. The first rays of sunlight enhance the splashes against the light. Nikon D850, Sigma supertele 300-800mm, f / 7.1, 1/2500 sec, ISO 180. Thanks for your comments Link to comment

michaellinder 16,612 Posted August 15, 2020 Two birds are better than one, Giangiorgio. This is simply extraordinary. The reflections connect to yield the impression that the birds are part of a network. My best always, michael - - My best always - Ciao! Link to comment
gregverena 342 Posted August 15, 2020 Giangiorgio- these flamingo images are true works of art- can imagine the image wall size! That you get such clarity at that distance is also outstanding! Link to comment
pablowarko 1 Posted August 16, 2020 Impressive timing with the outside bird having both feet out of the water, Giangiorgio. I like the negative space on the left side. It encompasses spatial distance of the birds landing. The focus is excellent because the outline of the birds is very sharp. The color contrast is wonderful. Great job in capturing this exceptional image. Best regards, Paul. Link to comment

vincentoiseau 83 Posted August 16, 2020 Hi Giangiorgio, again an amazing shot at dawn against a sun that is only shortly weak enough to shoot a photo like this, so you have to get lucky within a short time frame. But you did it -again- and came up with an image even more wonderful than the last one I saw. The flamingos seem to be running on the water. It's a marvelous photo, certainly considering that shooting distance. Bravo! Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
