gordonjb
At this time of year, I like to hike in Killarney on the north shore of the Georgian Bay. We try to make the trip every autumn to enjoy the fall colours. Newfoundland is on of my all time favourite places for landscape photography. Hoping to get out there next summer.

cegeiss
Wherever I am located. Many years ago I thought you'd have to travel to take cool landscape images. Then I met Jim Brandenburg who takes amazing photographs from "flat and boring" Minnesota. Now I simply enjoy being outside, having a good time, and taking pictures.
Though I have to admit: Utah and Iceland are hard to beat.
Christoph Geiss
dcstep
Here's a shot from the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, just above Denver, Colorado:

<a title="Bucks & Mountains, What More Could You Want?" href=" data-flickr-embed="true">

I'm usually there for the wildlife, but it's a great place for one of the best examples of American long-grass prairie, here at the beginning of The Great Plain. Of course, the Rocky Mountains in the background and mule deer bucks in the FG doesn't hurt.
Glenn McCreery
Didier - I would love to go to the Dolomites someday. The mountains look beautiful, and, like the Tetons, the skiing is supposed to be great.
Didier Lamy
This is also a great place for cliff climbing, with a lot of paths equipped with cables ("via ferrata"), if contrary to me you are bold enough for this kind of experience.

donbright
Stuck is the word, or enlightened when I think of all the time I've spent in Northern Ca. I say stuck because I can't get enough of the meeting of land and sea in the places of Point Lobos, Point Reyes National Seashore and the Northern Coast in general. I have found that going back there repeatedly, is a way to see how to study light and how it works best within the particular subject matter. Of course the scale on that point slides, but it amazes me how the variances of light affect the form of known objects. It is now quite obvious to me that a trip to Ireland, Scotland, England is a must as the essence of what I'm looking for is in great abundance across the pond in that region.
Didier Lamy
Jon, fine example of a beautiful and simple landscape, built with just two main lines. However to me this kind of minimalist composition works better in B&W:

amateurphotographyschool
I quite like national parks with a little bit of water and maybe a few mountain areas. I also think cities provide good opportunities for landscape shots or cityscapes.
