horace_lai
Hi,

I would like to get an adapter to fit this on my Sony A6000 if it is possible. But first I need to know the mount type for this lens. The mount seems to be of a threaded type instead of the more modern types where a quarter turn would lock it in.

AJG
Tokina made lenses for many camera brands--show us the lens mount and someone can probably definitively identify it. If it is a screw mount, then it is probably the standard 42 mm Pentax/Praktica screw mount.
horace_lai
Here is the threaded part of the lens. I have measured the diameter to be 42mm. Does that automatically mean it is a m42 mount? If so I will probably buy this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/High-Quality-Fotga-M42-Mount-Lens-to-Sony-NEX-E-mount-Adapter-Ring-NEX-/191822387376?hash=item2ca98158b0:g:fDQAAOSwxp9W32B7

Jochen_S
Looks like the typical M42. - I am not aware of any other threaded directly to SLR mount (that would be used with zooms)
Possible pitfall: Do you have an adapter that will operate the stopping down pin of the lens? - Those late zooms are unlikely to come with a manual / auto switch like other older M42 gems.
horace_lai
Do you mean this switch?

SCL
Yes the manual/auto switch will do the job on an M42 body, allowing you to focus wide open and have the diaphragm close down when you press the shutter button, but the adapter for the Sony won't, as there is nothing in the camera to push the little pin. You just choose the desired aperture with the switch set to manual. I use similar lenses on my M4/3 body, and because of the way the EVF increases in brightness, focusing stopped down is rarely an issue.
horace_lai
Okay great. I will order the adapter now. Thanks!
steven_clark
About the only reason not to stop down when adapting the lens to digital is to decrease depth of field to amplify out-of-focus areas.
