Week 25 is here, summer is starting to happen and its time to post your favorite pic this week. No slackers allowed, if you are lurking, to be bashful, I'll start with a pic taken in Palm Springs very recently in the late afternoon. Taken with a GX7 and Summicron 35. Let see yours! <a title="Untitled by Barry Fisher, on Flickr" href=" spacer.png src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/501/18601026079_d26e11767f_o.jpg" alt="Untitled" width="880" height="566" />

Leica M + Canon FDn 20-35/3.5 L. The holes in the wall were for shooting arrows and bullets. Himeji Castle was never involved in warfare until WWII, when Himeji city was bombed. A bomb fell on the castle but failed to explode.

00dLmD-557258284.jpg.ae8847f86969b364b7181f787462a380.jpg

Leica lenses are incredible. BUT they also work the best on Leicas. That's my conclusion after trying to use a 50 mm Summicron M on a Fujifilm X-Pro 1 with a generic Leica M mount lens adapter. Granted, X-Pro 1 is a quirky camera, but still very good. I found manual focusing with Leica lenses to be a bit tricky (they work really well with rangefinders - it's a bit tricky with mirrorless non-rangefinder cameras). Perhaps it takes time to get used to it. In the end I still liked the result and the feel the lens created. Due to crop factor the 50 mm 'cron turned into a really nice portrait lens on X-Pro 1.

00dM4f-557302684.jpg.616e7a78b1f7e591393d93494230c085.jpg

Emir, Knut thanks for posting those photos they are of a interest to me. I have recently purchased a Fuji Pro for a mere 300 gbp with very low activations. I have decided its a keeper especially mated to the Fuji 27mm quality lens which fit in my jacket pocket. Like the handling, light weight, and the quality of the Fuji lenses.

So, just for fun Im going to buy a adapter for Leica lenses....hey, the Fuji lenses are up there with best.

It will not replace my M8 (must post some photos from it) but the Fuji as a companion. Thought of saving for a M9 ( love the brass thing ) but what I've seen from the photos they look somewhat flat and shades of grey. Probably corrected in post processing but I like contrast... black/black and white/white...just my taste.. one foot in film.

00dM9r-557313884.jpg.0fd9b081611eb1b30a6bc2bb72cd5796.jpg
