john_harper9
I have been building train gardens for non-profit fund raising events over the last several weeks. Yesterday, one of the model railroaders brought a gold-plated "millennium edition" train. And you thought the gold plated DF was over the top?

bnelson
Wow! A lot of creativity today. Very impressive. Matt - Good to know that with proper preparation, huge photos can be made.
It has been overcast and using the 150-600mm Tamron has been a real challenge. This is at 600mm f10, 1/800 ISO 1000.

Mary Doo
This is a composite of multiple exposures, focussing on different parts of the pink lady slipper using the shallowest depth of field available, so the messy background of the natural environment would not be evident. The resultant file was quite large.

And he was a model train enthusiast who had an
enormous lay out in his second floor of his house. It took up an entire huge bedroom. He loved his Hudson locomotives but he never had a gold plated one. He made is own engines and wrote articles for Railroad Modeler magazine.

liljuddakalilknyttphotogra
Panayotis Papadopoulos I just want to say thank you thank you for your kind comment. I took lots of photos of all the lights & inside the rides. but it's so hard to judge how to expose them. But that one just stood out to me :) I also want to say congratulations to the family addition. Wonderful photos of the little one. I'm sure the entire family's ecstatic over such a doll. I feel your photos express the gentleness & tenderness of a baby. All three are spectacular :)
thadley
WE are in a middle of a snow storm and outside is dark but like a Christmas card with all of the snow clinging on to all of the trees. Maybe I will post one in a few hours. In the meantime this is an older one taken close to the St.lawrence river in St.catherine, Quebec. Great shots as usual - there are two where I like the expression (eyes) on the dogs. Thanks Jon and William.

Panayotis - great baby photos. Congrats to you and the parents.

thadley
It is still snowing! This was taken on a street called Gatineau not far from St.Joseph's Oratory. I met a few people at a Greek restaurant, had a meal and when I exited the restaurant and turned left, this was the scene that greeted me. And the wind was blowing!
