I'll keep it limited to 4or less from now on. I use to shoot kids portraits but have not done it in about 2 years..

<p>She was a class mate in my studio lighting class a few years back. She's a former model from Wisconsin who now runs her own photography business.</p>

<p>Clara made her first appearance as an alumna in her old school's Homecoming field hockey alumni game yesterday. A plus was that they dispensed with the "goggles" (with the Sigma 100-300/4)</p>

<p>I prefer just having three photos to see a variety of stuff and it keeps things moving along better than a bunch at once. Four is fine too every now and then if you have one more that needs to get out. <br /> .<br /> My wife is an early riser and I'm not so much. If she sees a good sunrise in the works she wakes me up. :) So she woke me one morning last week for this one. I almost missed it, this was probably the last minute of good color. <p>My wife and I recently returned to Rocky Mt. National Park in Colorado for 9 days so I finally had an opportunity to shoot some, although hiking and fly fishing were the main goals. Getting a bit old and lazy so most images were shot with the Pentax Optio WG II leaving behind my Pentax K10D which I forgot to charge my batteries and forgot to bring my charger.</p>

<p><strong># 3 Bull elk in rut </strong>These male elk really do act very crazy at this time of year. We saw several episodes of the mating season rituals. No fights, but older, larger elk bugling and staring down younger rivals. Mostly by the roadside. We were hiking a high ridge one day and were 200 yards from an elk and his harem. He took a couple of steps toward us so we ended that hike early. More people are gored by elk, moose, and bison in national parks than bear attacks.</p>

<p>Great fall colors here, among many other things. Dorus, I love that first building. And Haig, the hummingbird is amazing. Wow. I like the bear, too.</p>

<p>Duane, thanks for the kind words about my Q7. I have a few more with it this week. The key, I think, is to use the 02 lens as little as possible. Probably the 08 wide would be a nice step up, but its a little pricey for me yet.</p>

Hi Doug, I have to admit it is a little bit like cheating.. It's a set up with 5 flashes, with a large color photo being used as a

background. There is a feeder to the left of the hummer, and basically you shoot when the hummer backs off from the

feeder to catch their breath.. One of my friends has 12 feeders in her garden, and all the gear.. It's pretty neat thing to be

able to do. I'll post a few more when I get back home later this week.

<p>yes Haig that hummer picture had me baffled there, since I had so much trouble earlier this year, trying to get one properly in focus.<br>

Your candid explanation makes it understandable, and now I know how to improve, and it makes me feel able to do.<br>

Apart from that I do like that Seine shot !</p>
