pjmeade Posted April 10, 2014 Share Posted April 10, 2014
Yesterday I'd planned to visit the Oxford Parks to shoot cricket with my newly acquired 400/2.8, but due to a lost or missing credit card, all I managed was a 45 minute walk with a very heavy backpack.
So instead, I set up to photograph some garden birds. It's a bit of a learning curve that I'm on, but here are a couple of full frame images.
7D+400/2.8+1.4x
<a title="Garden birds by Pete Meade, on Flickr" href=" src="https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2909/13754683873_9e9701f2c0_o.jpg" alt="Garden birds" width="800" height="533" />
<a title="Garden birds by Pete Meade, on Flickr" href=" src="https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7314/13754668935_9d613528d1_o.jpg" alt="Garden birds" width="800" height="533" />
Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Laura Weishaupt Posted April 10, 2014 Share Posted April 10, 2014
My contribution is a farewell to winter. Unaware of the winter ahead, I bought snow cleats for everyone in the family back in December. They made the difference between getting around or staying home. This was taken on the Skyline Trail at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary looking north into Schuylkill County.

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

robert100 Posted April 10, 2014 Share Posted April 10, 2014 ....he/she is busting open a samara to get at the seed (the little “helicopter” which spins to the ground carrying Maple seeds). An edible survival food you can find year-round if you're lost in the wilderness, rich in protein, the squirrels here on the mountain spend a great many hours each day scouring the ground for them. Unfortunately for the squirrels, the ground littered with “empties” is a visual clue to predatory birds that someone tasty is living in the vicinity. sunday04062014, T3i, cr2, iso800,Tv1/320=f5.6, Tamron sp70-300, manual

Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
