Thornton two-bath developer

James, I'm interested in trying Patrick Gainer's Vitamin C developer you mentioned before. I had read that sodium carbonate could react negatively with acidic stop bath and fixer and cause emulsion to blister. What fixer would you recommend to work well with this developer? I figure I could just substitute a good water rinse for a stop bath, but I'm not sure if my fixer of choice (Ilford Rapid Fix) would be too acidic.

Hello everyone

I am a digital photographer "converted" in analog recently thanx to the useful info provided by you people of this web site. I have started using HC 110 in H or B to develop my TRI X 400 films. After 50 rolls or so I wanted to try something else and given a try to the BT 2 baths metol based method. 4,5/4,5min @ 21C, 1 min continuous agitation and 2 slow inv on bath A evry remaining min. On bath B I have given 2 slow inv every min.

I have been very pleased with the result! As soon as I understand how to post a picture , I ll do it. In the meantime, since I cannot compare with different inversions, timing methods being my first roll I ask you these 2 questions

1) is it a good starting point what am I doing ( ref especially to invcersions)?

2) what if I want to push my film...say trix 400 or Neopan 400 @1600.? is there any dev table for this developper according to pushing and film somewhere?

thanx , claudio
