Happy Thursday everyone! We're a few minutes early this week for a change. It's been a crazy hectic week, so I wasn't able to take any new photos, but I'll get us started with another one from the kayak last week. This time a mammal instead of a bird. A beaver. Let's see those photos!

00bWGW-529823584.jpg.4e6cf92d926063c723f831f501eb3f7c.jpg

I was traveling recently when traffic on the interstate came to an abrupt halt. An accident ahead had traffic backed up for over 14 miles. Sat there for an hour and forty-five minutes. I noticed these guys on their motorcycles behind me and pulled out my camera. This guy glanced at me, just once, and that's when I fired the shutter.

00bWHw-529845584.JPG.5d532d59de509a447b0c697d37b9aac7.JPG

I managed to spend a couple of hours beside the Thames at the weekend. This is an adult mute swan busy pushing a juvenile out of its territory. Although I managed to get a couple of chase shots, this down beat shot was probably the best of the bunch.

After spending two hours at a local nature preserve last Friday, and getting nothing, I came home only to see this guy sitting on a tree branch right outside the third floor window of my house. He sat there patiently while I got my camera ready and opened the window. I believe it is a juvenile cooper's hawk.

00bWIL-529855584.jpg.b19949093b287021dec5b831dc80fbfa.jpg
