Hi all, just arrived from a long holiday time. I agree the new rules are interesting... let`s go:

"A traditional "Giants" feast in northern Spain... "

"Oops! The "Giant" is to big to cross this tunnel... oh, wait... "

"Great... let`s continue with the party ! Have fun!"

(All pics taken with a D700 + 24-120/4)

One more shot.....

PS. I think 3 images per person is a great idea. So many times I had a few images I wanna share but I have to decide on only one and a week later I can't share them anymore coz I have new stuff in the oven.... I think this will work well....
I just hope John P. doesn't mind it!! Hehehe....

00anKc-495223684.jpg.f932a6e0877c81b470626ea0a63b4fd4.jpg

Erik, long photo threads like this have recently been tweaked to load differently. See this thread: Fancy new way of loading images on long forum threads...

Also, try a couple other tricks:

A different browser (Chrome sometimes works a little faster for me than Firefox).

If possible with your ISP, try resetting your DSL modem.

Run a traceroute to see if there's a bottleneck somewhere. This is usually the problem in my area when photo.net seems slower than other sites I routinely visit.

My browser is also acting funny..... I used Safari and I don't like 3rd party browsers....
For example, all the pictures loaded individually (1 post 1 image) I see them right away as I did before BUT those like SHUN and STUART MOXHAM which have more than 1 image in one post I can't see them right away. Stuart's shots I didn't see them on Wednesday or Thursday I just saw them a few minutes ago.

I need to apologize in advance for posting some very sad news, but after seeing Paul B.'s bride "trash the dress" images with the bride standing in a river??, it reminds me the sad news that recently, a Canadian bride drowned in a slightly similar situation. After the wedding gown got wet, it became very heavy and pulled the bride under water: http://montreal.ctvnews.ca/bride-drowns-while-modelling-wedding-gown-near-rawdon-1.928876

I am glad that the bride Paul photographed did not get very deep into the water and got to go home safe.

I don't know why my pics would load slowly. They are linked images uploaded to my photo net gallery. They are larger than 700px in the longest dimension so I guess it could be the forum software that resizes them takes some time. I also run Safari on an iMac and it takes a while of all of the pics to load but that is usually caused by having an internet connection share by my entire terrace.

1- SHUN.... Sad story but I think you did the right thing...... If one day someone ask me to do that kind of shooting, i will say NO. Thank you for sharing.......

2- Paul B..... We enjoyed your work..... Let it be there.....

3- Stuart.... It must be my computer or my browser... we will learn about it.....

4- John P..... Wish you the best next week!!

I'll keep this off-topic discussion short: I convinced Paul B. that there is nothing wrong with his "trash the dress" image, but at least I would like to use the opportunity to remind everybody that something that is intended to be fun can unexpectedly become tragic. There are already a couple of threads on that incident on our Wedding Forum:
